This morning, I hosted my first Fort 2 Base fun run (with another race ambassador). It was so nice to meet some new people, get in some miles and give away some free race entries and swag! The humidity was really ridiculous, so I’m glad we finished when we did. I also tested out the trail shoes that I received from Mizuno via Fitfluential. LOVE them! Review coming later…
As for Fort2Base, if you are interested in running either the 3 or 10 nautical mile race on August 24, sign up at www.fort2base.com with code 2014F2BPETERSEN10 for 10% off! (Rates go up July 1, so if you haven’t signed up yet and are on the fence, now is your time to act!) It’s a great race, complete with beer at the finish line, sweet medals (with an option to get your race time engraved for free after the race) AND free race photos!
After the run, I needed some breakfast. I decided to try a sample I received from ProCakes. The single serving of pancakes has over 20 grams of protein…and it tasted SO delicious and was perfect to keep me full until the bridal shower I am attending later this afternoon. You just add an egg and 1/3 cup of milk (I used a little skim & almond milk). Super tasty (and gluten free for those of you who are curious!)
4 piece deck set | Umbrella canopy (similar) | Umbrella stand (option) | Pillows- orange / aqua | Lantern set | Rug
After I get back from the bridal shower, I hope to relax outside a little and enjoy our new deck space! I am seriously in love with it…and it was pretty affordable and totally transforms the space into an outdoor living room! I’ll be honest, I didn’t have the vision…I got inspiration from Molly’s blog. Super cute right? Most everything was either on sale or on clearance from World Market, with one thing from Pier One (I already had the umbrella and stand) so this makeover was very budget-conscious!
Oh, and since the hubs is away at the bachelor party, I’ll definitely be working on some blog posts…including my June clothing budget and my 20×30 remix post with the 20 items!
What are you up to this weekend?
Love love love your patio setup! That rug is so pretty! :)
Thanks Amy :-) Hoping we can do book club out there next month!
It’s crazy that I have never heard of the Fort2base run until you mentioned it. I’d love to do it!!! I run the North Shore 1/2 in June every year!! It’s my favorite! We have a bunch of stuff going on that weekend including the Hubs birthday so I feel like I would need to be a last minute sign up. I’ll have to look at the price :) Yesterday was hot and SOO sticky!! Enjoy the rest of the weekend
It’s such a great race…you’d love it! I’d love to do the North Shore half too- I’ve got it on my consideration list for next year. I plan to do a giveaway for a free entry on the blog (and there are a number of fun runs in the area where we raffle off free entries too- check out the Fort2Base FB page). I hope to host a couple more before race day too! Hope you are having a nice weekend- today seems MUCH better weather-wise!
You have a gorgeous backyard! I love the deck and all your new furniture. It looks so inviting!
Thank you so much! Maybe one of these days we can do a shopping day at the outlets and have cocktails at my place- I’m not far from there!
