September Fitness Check In
In the past, summer has been my season for a busy race schedule. And while I still love a good race, it's a bit more challenging this season with a toddler and a now 3 month old. Regardless, I still love to be active and aim to work up a sweat 5 days a week. My current workout schedule consists of 2-3 days of spinning, 1-2 days of strength training and 1 day a week to actually run (which is usually pushing my three year old for a 5k loop in my neighborhood.) For quite a while, I was crushing Read More
My Next Race: Gurnee Days 10K Race & 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk
A 5k with my buddy... (Man, laying back, enjoying the ride with a handful of Cheerios sure sounds nice, right?!) After the Wisconsin Half Marathon in May, I haven't been running all that regularly-- whoops! I've been mixing it up with my workouts, but I still do a 5k stroller run route with my buddy at least once a week. I've been missing longer runs, so I'm excited to do one of my favorite 10k races in August. If you are local, check out the details and join me! The details: Gurnee Days Read More

Antioch Run for Freedom 5k Recap
This was my third year doing the Antioch Run for Freedom 5k on the 4th of July. This time, however, my Mom and husband joined me! It was so nice to be able to participate with them and cheer them on…so proud! This was the 20th anniversary of the race, and it seemed to be much more crowded than the past two years I participated. Luckily, I was able to pick up our packets a week or so ahead of time at the local bank that runs the race, so all we had to do was park and walk to the start, Read More
