My Next Race: Gurnee Days 10K Race & 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk
A 5k with my buddy... (Man, laying back, enjoying the ride with a handful of Cheerios sure sounds nice, right?!) After the Wisconsin Half Marathon in May, I haven't been running all that regularly-- whoops! I've been mixing it up with my workouts, but I still do a 5k stroller run route with my buddy at least once a week. I've been missing longer runs, so I'm excited to do one of my favorite 10k races in August. If you are local, check out the details and join me! The details: Gurnee Days Read More
Gurnee Days Trail Run 2016 #GoGurnee
Runs these days look a bit different, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I have a great running buddy! In an effort to stick to my fitness routine, I signed up for one race a month (July through October). July’s race was Antioch’s Run for Freedom over the 4th. It was Bryce’s first official race running with my in the stroller. Despite a crowded start, we finished in 26:18, 4th in my age group and first stroller finishers- woo woo! The race for August is one I’ve done for a few Read More
Win it Wednesday: Hero Half Marathon and 10k

Back at It: Gurnee Days 10k
First 5k run through the neighborhood. (Not gonna lie- was pretty sore after that!) After getting the “all clear” at my postpartum appointment, I am anxious to get to running again! That is, when I can find the time. Ideally, I’m aiming to do a half marathon later this fall, but getting out to run will be tricky. I look forward to when I can use the jogging stroller so Bryce can come with me (which I’ve read it as 6 months.) Until then, most of my runs are on weekends when T is with our Read More

Last year, I ran the inaugural Hero 10k race at the beautiful Indiana Dunes State Park, along with fellow blogger Erin, and my cousin Kelly. And I’m back again this year…with a giveaway for not one but TWO lucky runners! The details: Hero Half Marathon and 10k When: Sunday, October 19 at 8 am CST Where: Indiana Dunes Read More
2014 Race Discounts and Running Schedule
Source This year, I decided to run one race a month during what I consider to be the decent weather months, so not including Dec through March due to the snow-pocalypse in Chicago. So far, I've stuck to it. I've also been complementing my running with Pure Barre classes and a group fitness class like Tabata or Body Pump at work here and there and I feel like it's been a great mix for me...I'm very pleased with my times from my 2014 running schedule thus far!
