With summer quickly approaching, I’m talking swimsuits and flip flops. Particularly more expensive, “investment” options and whether or not they are worth the investment. I thought it’d be helpful to share photos and thoughts from my perspective as a Mom of two littles that doesn’t have the measurements of the swim models out there…
To answer simply: 100%, absolutely, worth every penny. I would rather have one high quality swimsuit I feel great in than a handful of ill-fitting ones from Target or elsewhere (which cost about the same if you think about it!) Seriously, the right swimsuit can make it or break it in terms of comfortability, confidence, etc. Nothing better than a reliable suit, a cover up and some simple gold jewelry for a day at the beach or pool!
Same goes for flip flops. Every season, I seem to buy a few pairs only to buy new ones the next season. In an effort to have a minimalist wardrobe, having a solid pair of flip flops and a great swimsuit is well worth it in my opinion!
I recently ordered the Ruffle Oasis Swimsuit from Summersalt after seeing a number of influencers raving about it. They had a nice return/exchange policy and I loved the design and cut of their swimsuits, so I gave it a go.
I was not disappointed.
Here’s what I love:
-the pattern and design is fun and chic, accentuates in the right places, and the cups are BUILT IN! (perhaps because the company took 1.5 million measurements from body scans on 10,000 women!)
-the straps are adjustable
-the bottom has fuller coverage
-overall, the suit has a nice compression to it, not too much, but just enough (I did order up a size per their instructions and that worked well for me and my 5’5″ frame)

As for the flip flops, I’ve always wanted to try shoes from Rothy’s, a company that makes shoes with the environment in mind. The flip flops were something I needed, and at a lower price point than their flats, so I thought I’d start there and got the Rothy’s Flip flops in Coconut. I’ve been wearing them nonstop as the temps have gotten warmer. They are not only very comfortable and supportive with no break-in period, but also durable AND machine washable, looking great over the long haul! I tried putting on a cheap pair of flip flops I had and forgot how terribly uncomfortable they were. Excited to clean out my shoe closet and get rid of all those pairs I’ve accumulated over the years now that I’ve found these!
