It’s been a while, but I *actually* have an outfit post for you! Let’s hop right in…
Over the years, a sweatshirt has become a staple piece in my closet.
As a mom, it checks off the important boxes – washable and comfortable. But even though it is a casual piece, something about a wordless, no logo sweatshirt with a good fit gives this effortless vibe that is stylish, not sloppy.
The first step to getting away from logo- or sports-themed sweatshirts is to pick a solid, classic color, like navy or black. From a distance, it looks more like a sweater than a walking billboard for a team or brand. This is one of my big style tips for moms of little kids – if you are worried about your sweaters getting ruined by spit-up or messy toddler hands – a washable sweatshirt as an everyday uniform works so well.

This sweatshirt is from Shopbop, where I get a lot of my closet staples and investment pieces. If you are looking to add a few pieces to your closet, now is the time to do it! Shopbop’s big fall sale is on with early access starting today with code STOCKUP19 through Saturday, Sept 28th. You get 20% off orders under $500 and 25% off orders over $500, including full-price AND sale items. More sale details can be found on their site here. And to sweeten the deal, sign up for a free Ebates account and cash back on your order (when I checked just a couple days before this post went live, it was at a whopping 6% cash back!)
This sweatshirt has a subtle leopard print that I love without it being too loud. I paired it with my trusty jeans and booties, and is a look I can wear over and over again. The addition of the earrings helps polish the outfit (and ties in the color from my booties). The pointed toe flats are another option to make for another look.
As much as I enjoy to write about and style clothes, one thing is for certain: when I am at home, I am in athleisure. It’s helpful to have a sports bra and leggings on with my sneakers, so I can get in a quick workout before appointments/errands, work, etc. I love to go for a monochromatic look in athleisure– adds a level of sophistication in my opinion! This sweatshirt has a super soft fleece feeling and nice seam details to give it some polish over a plain sweatshirt.

I hope this post gives you some fresh style ideas about how to feel comfortable and cozy in a sweatshirt! Whether you pull one out of your closet or shop one of my favorites linked above, it’s a basic piece to rely on through fall and winter!
