Inspiration: Audrey @ Putting Me Together (post here)
I pinned this look from Audrey a long time ago. Something about the mustard and pop of red spoke to me. Her casual look is super cute, but I styled my look more for the office with black dress pants and heels. I added a pop of red in my earrings:
Apologies for the cell phone selfies…my point & shoot digital camera wouldn’t flash because it was so sunny out, and I can’t figure out a way to override it. Definitely looking to upgrade to a DSLR camera soon. Ready for some higher quality photos!

Super cute…I love how versatile a mustard cardi can be :)
Me too- the color is so pretty!
I love that look! Erin has shown me outfits from that blog before – she has a lot of good ones.
You know which Camera we love – our Canon Rebel t3i. We’ll have it out on Sunday if you want to play with it ;)
Yes- I love her style! And guess who found a deal on the T3i this weekend?! This girl! :-D
Very cute look, such a bummer about your camera. I have a canon t3 rebel and really like it. I wish I’d gotten the one with the remote option though, I think hats the i version. Mine can use a remote. It hte co on one was $100 so I have a cheap one that doesn’t always work how I want.
I’ve heard great things about the T3i and actually found a great deal at Best Buy over the weekend so pulled the trigger! So excited to learn how to use it!
Love your recreation! SO so so cute! This reminds me that I really need to get some new cardigans…. especially a mustard yellow one!
I LOVE my mustard cardigan- thought it would wash me out but it’s fab!
I have that same cardigan! I really like this look, especially the red accents. I think it looks better dressed up as you wore it!
Thank you so much Lauren! It’s like ketchup and mustard– definitely works together :-)
This came out great, really. You had a great lady as your inspiration but you always do a great job on your own. Don’t mind if I copy LOL. Love your earrings too. Let me know if you ever want to swap styles. And I’d love for you to stop by my blog one of these days. =)
Absolutely- please do! Thanks Ada!!
Great look! Thanks for linking up with Style Swap!
oXo

Thank you Jenn!
Yep, you really can’t go wrong with the Canon series. I’m still learning how to use ours but if you get one and want some tips I *might* be able to help!
Also, be sure to check ebay and Craigslist for deals. People tend to upgrade their cameras so finding a gently used entry level one shouldn’t be too difficult.
Just sent you an email :-) We got one over the weekend– woo hoo!! Will be Youtubing for a crash course in how to use the thing :-)
Great look! Love how you used Audrey’s look as inspiration. I’m looking into purchasing a DSLR sometime soon too. I got a bridge camera on Black Friday but I wish I would have made the full-on leap into DSLR. I hear great things about Nikons and Canons.

Thanks Katie! Yeah I’ve heard good things about the Canon Rebel T3i– will be checking Consumer Reports!
Great outfit! The color scheme is great here with your black and white top with mustard cardigan and red earrings. So lovely!

Appreciate it Lauren- it’s like a ketchup and mustard hot dog combo outfit haha!
Love that mustard sweater on you! Found you though Midwest Bloggers – so happy to have you as a member! xx
Thank you so much Maya- glad to be in such great company!
Love the mustard sweater!! Great outfits ladies.
Thank you so much- I love that color, so fun!
Loved the way you did yours. Love the earring the most..such a subtle pop of color. And as for DSLR..I have a canon T1i, its old, but works great, I just feel I need to invest in a better portrait lens..and keep an eye out on amazon, bnhphotos. They are good sites with good deals often.
I love the red earrings- works well with mustard colors! And I appreciate the camera advice too!
I think the mustard cardigan is now a must-have. I also like how you style your inner blouse such that the sleeves show at the wrist area. It’s definitely an office attire.

Thanks for noticing that detail- it’s actually one of the parts I like best about the outfit!
