My family and I do our fair share of road trips: from weekend family getaways, to holidays with family, or long weekends at the cabin. We’ve gotten to be quite good at packing our vehicle not only with the four of us, but also our luggage and our dog despite not having a third row. Whenever we hit the road, I always reach for these items that help make packing a breeze!
Catalina Deluxe Tote
I bought this years ago and it has been the best bag! It is made of eco friendly materials, holds a TON and is designed so well. I love the bottom zipper pocket with a removable padded insert to separate an extra pair of shoes, toiletries, or dirty clothes. It also has an exterior zipped pocket (I put my phone charger and other tech stuff there) and an interior zip pocket too. It works great for road trips, but also has a pass-through sleeve so you can slip it over a suitcase and a super comfortable messenger strap and durable handles for carrying. PS- watch for sales on this!
Collapsible Tote
This tote is a workhorse. Pack it full of books, snacks, water bottles, winter gear, etc. and you will be set to go! The best part? It holds is structure when in use and collapses down for easy storage.
Leather Travel Case Set
I recently invested in this set of cases and they do not disappoint. They are sized generously and have a beautiful shape. I use the larger case for toiletries, and the smaller case for makeup or jewelry. They are so cute I would even use them as a clutch as well! And I have to say, their customer service is AMAZING. I noticed a very small imperfection on one of my cases when it arrived and they immediately rushed me out a replacement. Bonus: you can get them monogrammed!Cladwell app
I love to use this app on the daily, but especially when it comes to trips to make packing a breeze.
The Cladwell app is a wardrobe app that helps you buy less stuff and wear more of what you already own. When you download it, you enter in all of the items in your wardrobe for a “virtual closet” of sorts. Once you’ve input your clothes, the app will offer daily outfit ideas, let you see possible outfit combinations by selecting specific items you want to wear, show you which items you are wearing most often (or not wearing), and even let you create little capsule wardrobes, whether for everyday life or even for travel!
Bonus: when you give the app permission to know your location, it’ll select 3 daily outfit options for you based on the weather for the day so the outfits make sense and aren’t totally random. Lastly, you can also set things aside in “storage” on the app (like bulky jackets or sweaters during the summer). The app is available for both Apple and Android users and they offer a 7 day free trial.
…………
In terms of the boys…they each have their own suitcase, and depending on the length of our stay, they either share one or have their own!
I was literally JUST looking at weekender bags with the shoe compartment on the bottom! What great bags you’ve found – great post, Val!
