Lately I’ve been itching for a little closet refresh for fall. I’ve tried Stitch Fix and Wantable, and felt my $25 “styling fee” was kind of forcing me to keep items I wasn’t 100% in love with, and I didn’t get a lot of say in what the stylist selected, and only got a small handful of items.
What drew me to ordering a Nordstrom Trunk though was that if you have a Nordstrom card (I have their debit card), their $25 styling fee is waved! So I can order trunks and not feel like I have to keep anything just to not lose $25. I really love that a box full of clothes (and I mean FULL) just shows up at my house, I get to try them on in the privacy of my own home with my own closet, keep what I want, and have FedEx pick up the box from my front door. It also helps to have a stylist give me new styles to try on, to see how they work with my body, life, and current wardrobe. I am fairly consistent about basically buying the same items just in different colors/patterns, so this kind of forces me to try new things that I may love.
I signed up through their website (they also have an app), answered a few questions about what I was looking for, filled out my sizes, and the next day got an email saying my box was ready to be reviewed. I swapped out a few things I knew I wasn’t going to like at all, and left a few spots open for my stylist’s suggestions. A few days later, the box showed up at my
house!
I work part-time (remotely) and occasionally need to dress up for work, church or other events…otherwise it’s a lot of athleisure and workout wear for me. That said, I requested some casual/slightly dressed fall pieces, a moto jacket and athleisure/workout wear. And boy did it deliver!
I got a mix of items from Adidas, Spanx, Madewell, LL Bean, Sweaty Betty, Barefoot Dreams (yes, their sweater is as soft as clouds), Under Armour, BB Dakota and Girlfriend Collective to name a few.
Unlike Stitch Fix and Wantable subscriptions, Nordstrom offers a TON of brands to shop from. I love that they have sporting, beauty and designer brands all in one spot. Another reason I like it? They also price match on competitors’ prices. I saved $20 off the shoes because I found them cheaper elsewhere and they matched it right away via their customer service chat.
And that was the end of my trunk! You have the option to sign up for trunks every 1, 2, or 3 months. I was seriously impressed at the sheer number of items, and how well they listened to my requests. All the sizing, colors, etc. were pretty in line with what I submitted too. I’d call it a win!
If you would like to try Nordstrom Trunk Club, you can use my referral code to get $50 off your first box (and I get $50 too!).
And be sure to use Rakuten when you check out to get even more cash back for free (and anywhere else you shop online too!)
