Now that I am in my mid thirties and we are well into this whole quarantine at home thing, I decided it was the perfect time to take better care of my skin, and address those fine lines & wrinkles, past acne scarring/hyperpigmentation and just improve my overall skin tone. So today I’m sharing a roundup of some of at-home skin care products I’ve tried lately!
TruSkin Vitamin C Serum*
I’ve never really used serums before, and knew I wanted something concentrated like a serum to provide powerful benefits to my skin. This serum helps brightens and evens tone and reduces signs of aging like dark spots and fine lines. This particular brand is made without fillers, silicones and other “junk” that can get in between active ingredients and your skin. You can use it (a little goes a long way!) day or night or both depending on what your skin needs, though I typically use it in the morning after I’ve washed my face and follow with their moisturizer. You can find it at Truskin.com and get 10% off all their products with code MOM10. It’s also available on Amazon (with 37k reviews!) and at Walmart.
Collagen Peptides
Your collagen levels start to drastically decrease starting at age 20, so I started mixing in collagen into my morning coffee. It is tasteless and is supposed to help with healthy hair, skin, nails, joints, ligaments, and tendons. The added protein first thing in the morning is great too!
Environ skin care
These products came recommended to me by ALC MedSpa, the local spot where I get laser hair removal (more on that here.) I am looking forward to trying an official skin care routine with professional, medical grade products. The face wash removes oils and dirt without drying out your skin (which is huge for me because I am facing some dry spots, which is amplified even more by the cold weather) and is suited for acne-prone, congested skin. The gel is a light moisturizer that is filled with Vitamins A & C and antioxidants and botanicals.
Oia Anti Wrinkle Patches**
Those fine lines and wrinkles are starting to make an appearance over here so I recently tried a Oia anti wrinkle patches, which are a cheaper (and safer) alternative to Botox . The results were AMAZING! Not only are they super easy to use, but you can re-use them up to 15 times. You can see the difference in my forehead alone, and that was after using them once for a few hours. I plan to use them overnight next and am sure the results will be even better! (If you want more proof and before/after shots, check out @stylethislife— her results are amazing!) Get some for yourself at oiskin.co and get 10% off with code IMVALERIEIG.
