Boots: Aldo, old {option for under $20, another option}
Today I’ve got a look with the most obvious of staples: jeans. And particularly fitting today because it’s the theme of the monthly #MomStyleRemix.
And these jeans? Amazeballs. They are from Madewell and although pricey, they are well worth it. They hold their shape, fit like a dream and have a higher rise that doesn’t show everything when I am bending down to pick up Bryce yet they certainly don’t look like, well you know…Mom jeans. I was lucky enough to find this pair on eBay back in November, and they are one of my top purchases from 2015, hands down.
And the rest of the outfit? I went with my trusty cognac boots from forever ago (because flats are king these days). I also picked up this marled blue swing tee from Old Navy last week and it was on crazy clearance. I thought it would look like a tent on, but it lays nicely, and I appreciate it not being so form fitting- right Mamas?!
And guys, I got real fancy. I normally don’t wear a ton of jewelry because Bryce will either tug at it, gnaw on it or cover it in drool, but I opted to add a pop of color with a pink stone pendant necklace. AND I blow dried my hair. Lemme just say- it’s been a while since I’ve done that. Usually I let it air dry but it was nice to style it up just a little bit!
Of course, I wear these jeans a ton, so they definitely get remixed. Want proof? Here you go.
Top: BB Dakota Jack Rufio Top (part of my Wantable box…but I found it on clearance here!)

A good pair of jeans is priceless! These look amazing on you!
Thanks Laura- I couldn’t agree more!
Haha, jeans are for everyone, but there certainly are new criteria to consider when you’re buying a pair as a mom! This one looks totally worth every penny… Love how when you have a quality pair you can just put a simple top with it, and you’re good to go. Also love how both of these are “simple” looks but have such interesting textures and little details to make you look completely pulled together and stylish. Thanks so much for joining us!
Totally- the criteria has definitely changed over time. I used to want super low rise, but I would never dream of it now. Love this link up- thanks for reading Anne!
I love the wash on your jeans, I may have to check out Madewell for my next denim purchase! The relaxed fit of that first shirt is perfect, it still has a bit of shape, but isn’t clingy. It looks so blah on the website, but so cute in real-life!
I used to swear by the American Eagle stretch jeans, which I still love, but the Madewell is even nicer and the rise is just right and holds their shape a bit better vs. AE. They cost a bit, but free shipping and returns so you can figure out the size/style that works best and then maybe hunt on eBay, ThredUp, etc. for a cheaper option?
I am SO flattered you blow-dried your hair just for this link-up! :D I did the same thing! I’m obsessed with that ON top – it is crazy flattering, and a step-up from my stand-by of a regular v-neck tee. Madewell just basically needs to be my whole closet. I haven’t tried their jeans yet, but I don’t live too far from a J.Crew/Madewell clearance store (part of their warehouse, and probably my favorite place in the world) – and I hopefully can go there and get a good deal. And love the second top as well!
It was the weekend, and I had some time to actually get ready for the day vs the week days when it’s hectic with work :-) I would LOVE to own a Madewell closet, but then I’d be broke haha! And SO jealous that you live by a clearance store…I didn’t know those existed!
