I’ll admit it. I was hesitant to wear these white jeans, especially for a “Mom Style” blog post. Or even pre-baby for that matter. I was always worried that I would get a stain on them and ruin them. And with a toddler in tow, I thought that was even more the case. And for that reason, I never reached for them in my closet. They just sat there, unworn. For a loooong time.
But you know what? I am finally putting them into my outfit rotation these days. Besides white denim, I have several pieces in my closet that I don’t wear, either because I am worried I will ruin them, or some other silly reason where I feel I have to “save” the article of clothing for something that I can’t even put my finger on. And then you see the problem, right? These things just never get worn! Crazy, I know. So I’m putting an end to this subconscious thought and these pieces. It doesn’t do me any good when I have things just sitting in my closet. They are meant to be worn!
Besides, if these jeans do happen to get stained, there’s nothing a stain remover can’t fix! And if they are beyond repair, it’s under $30 to replace. No biggie for something that I will actually wear. :-) In fact, I think white denim is a great spring and summer staple for my wardrobe, and versatile too. Works with patterns and solids on top, like I did in this outfit. I added my new favorite (reversible!) tote and walking-on-clouds cognac flats and voila- a fun spring outfit.
Do you “save” certain articles of clothing and realize you just don’t end up wearing them? Tell me I’m not alone!

The best thing about white jeans is bleach is fine for them! I’ve been guilty of saving items for a special occasion before, but not lately! It’s fun to wear those special pieces. They make the day feel more special when you wear them!
YES to bleach! Works every time, right?! Such a great point on feeling special in those pieces too.
I am the same way with white clothes! Then I save them for a day when I’m kid-free and I end up all dirty anyway! When I where white with the kids, I actually get less dirty because I think I am more careful. So silly. I need to pair my gingham tops with my white jeans like this. It is such a clean and classic summer look! Great outfit!

Oh that is an interesting phenomenon! Too funny! Thanks so much for reading Shelbee!
I do that sometimes too, for various reasons. Sometimes I love an item so much I feel like I should wait until the perfect day/occasion/weather to wear it, which is so silly. Like I can’t just wear it again when that day comes! Anyway, I love white jeans too and this is such great inspiration for wearing them!
Exactly– isn’t it silly?! Glad to hear I’m not the only one. Thanks for reading Shea!
I have seen that vest everywhere and I want it for myself. I love how you styled it with the gingham print underneath. Love it!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worn this vest– such a staple! Thanks for reading Candace!
I think the white jeans look great on you! I bought a pair of white jean capris last year, and I wore them sooo much. It was the first pair of white pants I had ever had, actually! Your pair is a great foundational piece for your wardrobe!

Oh capris would be great- especially for summer! Thanks so much for visiting Ginger!
I love white denim, although with a toddler, I don’t wear them as much as I used to! ;) Thanks for linking up this week!

Yeah I think the chances of these getting messy increases as my little guy grows haha! Thanks for reading!
I hear a lot of people say this about “saving” white jeans for fear of ruining, but I sort of figure that no matter what item of clothing gets spilled on by me or my kid, the spill is either going to wash out or not, so what does it matter whether that’s regular jeans, white jeans, or whatever! And you should totally wear yours more because this outfit is fab – incorporates so many favorite items in my closet into one.
Yes! It’s such an unjustified fear but always gets me in my head but not anymore…I’m getting some wear out of these!
Great outfit, I love the layers here, perfect for a “mom” style outfit. Very stylish.

Thanks Rachel! Layers are the best- perfect for spring weather (and the occasional mess from a toddler) :-)
I think I went a little beyond just “saving” clothes, to not buying them at all because I was afraid I’d ruin them. Thanks for the inspiration to just try it. :) Maybe I’ll try some white jeans on my next shopping trip and see if I can find a pair.
At least you weren’t spending the money to have something sit in your closet like I was…but I vow not to do that anymore! And white jeans are such a great option for spring/summer…I bet you’ll get a lot of wear from them too!
Gah this outfit really makes me want a gingham shirt like that!! It’s SO cute styled like this – thanks for linking up :)
Thanks Bri! Yeah nothing better than some classic white- thanks for challenging me to bring my white denim out of my closet!
