Raise your hand if your Facebook newsfeed, blog reader, inbox, etc. is filled with best picks and reviews from Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. Yep, me too.
Confession: I have to come clean with you. This is the firs time I’ve taken advantage this year. Such great prices, combined with their free shipping & returns- can’t beat it, really.
Here’s my PSA on the whole shebang. If you do decide to shop the #nsale, be sure to sign up for a free account at Ebates. You’ll get $10 just for signing up, then if you select Nordstrom and shop away, you’ll get a whopping 6% cash back. FREE money, people! Sign up here. Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale runs through August 7th, so you’ve got some time to take advantage still. I’m considering stock up on my favorite leggings, while I still have time…
So back to the clothes. I am in love with this Caslon Cotton Knit Open Front Blazer. I love that it’s less structured than a regular blazer and no buttons to worry about. It lays really nicely and is almost like a sweatshirt material, but looks nicer (it’s a little wrinkly out of the box, I couldn’t wait to wear it for some photos!) You have the option to roll up the sleeves easily, and it has a spacedye look on the cuffs that will show. It has some nice give to it, which is nice when I’m reaching for Bryce. Oh, and it has pockets. POCKETS! For under $40, I actually got it in a few colors. #sorrynotsorry
I ordered it first in my regular size medium, but the sleeves were way long and just overall too big throughout. The small fits perfectly, so I’d recommend sizing down.
This is a great outfit that reminds me of working in a more traditional office environment. And along those lines, you might be seeing a bit more office-appropriate outfits around here. Yep, I accepted a job back in corporate America, and my first day is today, actually!
The best part? It’s part-time, which is the perfect blend for me, and our family. It’s an arrangement I’ve been looking at for quite some time and I’m so grateful to have found an opportunity that lets me spend more time with this little stud…
What are you eyeing up at #NSale?

I love that dress on you! So gorgeous with the blazer :)

Thanks Abby! It’s been remixed a lot, love a good workhorse dress like that!
I’m loving that blazer! I’m curious to see how it holds up over time being a knit material, but I’m loving the shape – especially with that draped collar.
So I did wash it and it does have some wrinkling (even after using Wrinkle Release spray when I hung it to dry.) A warm iron helps, but the pockets make it hard to press entirely flat to make it look like it did out of the box. What I ended up doing was cutting out the pockets (realized I wouldn’t use them) and sewed them down and made a small stitch on the inside to keep the lapel down and flat. These fixes really helped to help it lay nicely!
That dress is awesome! I love the colors! I didn’t take advantage of the sale but I have seen sooooo much about it.
The NSale is EVERYWHERE…hopefully that will die down this week, then it will be time for all things Olympics!
A part time job back in corporate America sounds perfect for you! And your outfit is perfect for it :-)
I’m thinking it will be just the right mix for me :-) (Although let’s be honest…the ‘perfect’ job would involve wearing workout gear like we’ve talked about haha!)
Cute blazer! Congrats going back to corporate!

Thanks so much Ruth- excited to have the opportunity to go part-time!
Great blazer with the dress!
Thanks Alison! Really helps elevate it to another level for the office while still being super comfy. Win win!
Love that outfit on you! Looking good, Momma!
Thanks friend! :-) Gotta dust off those “professional” clothes now HA!
Love this look on you! The blazer is perfection, you will wear it a ton now and this fall! One of my favorite purchases from the Nsale is the James Perse midi dress (dress up or down for us moms) and the Joie animal print sweater coat (hopefully I can wear it sometime in November when the temps drop :) I also picked up the heavy Kendra Scott Lariat in silver! Great post!

Thanks Suzanne- I’m thinking so too! Just looked up that midi dress (something I’ve always wanted to try) and it’s perfection! You are right- very remixable too! And can’t go wrong with Kendra Scott- it will go with everything.
Great dress and the blazer is perfect with it.
Thanks! It really elevated it to be a bit more professional for the office, but still super comfortable!
Congrats on your new job and getting some time with your little guy too, that’s amazing!
