J.Crew Factory, which has quickly become one of my favorite clothing stores, has such wonderful stuff! I recently hit their outlet this past weekend and stocked up on a few essentials. I had been lusting after their shawl-front cardigans for awhile and saw that they were half off, so I decided to stock up. I chose the mint color because A- I am trying to break out of my “basic black-gray-navy-white-cream that will match with everything” mentality and B-it’s such a FUN color. I mean, doesn’t mint just make you happy?!
I went with this classic (and incredibly comfortable) outfit:
I love that this cardigan lays flat on across the chest and stays put for the most part, unlike other button-front cardigans that gather/fall by your armpits or sides of your boobs (who’s with me?!) unless you button some or all of the buttons. It’s very comfortable, effortless and flows nicely. Even belting it would be cute!

Leggings: Vera Wang by Kohl’s
Boots: Target
Watch: NY&Co Outlet
Necklace: Vintage
Clearly, all the cool kids are wearing mint these days.
But what other colors would go well with mint? Obviously, black, gray, white and cream are safe options. Navy also looks really nice with it in my opinion. But I think coral (one of my favorite colors), would be so cute!
Ooo! Mint! What a fun color! LOL, I did not think about the way buttoned cardigans lay unbuttoned until you mentioned it. J Crew has some seriously nice stuff! Even the outlet seems a bit high priced to me, but it’s worth it. I have some REALLY cute dresses from there!
I like the color combos you came up with! Could you do brown and mint or would that be too blah? Or would it just make me hungry for mint chocolate?
Haha yes it really bugs me with those cardigans sometimes!! And you’re right- J.Crew is kinda pricey (I have yet to buy a full-priced item from even the outlet store).
Brown and mint would work too I think! (But I might drool over my outfit. They should make a fragrance- mint chocolate. YUM! A perfect compliment to the outfit!)
love the mint cardigan! I’ve styled mine with red, mustard, navy, brown, rust, and a variety of prints; stripes, floral, leopard… its really so versatile!
Great suggestions…and the prints make the possibilities truly endless! Thanks for reading!
