A couple weeks ago in a previous style post, I broke down the occasions that I dress for. It included athletic wear, casual wear and work wear. Athletic wear certain dominates my outfits each week at 40%, and some weeks, it seems like it’s more at 50%. This type of clothing is comfortable for playing around with Bryce, and nice to have on so I can squeeze in a workout sometime throughout the day (as much as I’d like to wake up before Bryce does and get it done, a 5am wake up call seems so hard…)
I like to “dress up” my athletic wear and make it more “athleisure,” particularly if I’m leaving the house for errands, playdates, etc. And that’s what I did here. I find that sticking to my neutral color palette makes the athleisure look a bit more chic versus bright, patterned leggings/tops (although I do have those and love rocking them during barre classes). The black Nikes really elongate my legs, and are incredibly comfortable. The sweater is great for warmth, and easy to swap for a tank or tee for a sweat session. And can we talk about this perforated sports bra?! I picked it up on major sale at Shopbop (see it here), and have worn it nonstop. It’s supportive but stylish, which is hard to come by, particularly if you have somewhat of a chest. I love how it peeks out from the sweater, and have worn it to barre class with an open back tank. A great way to add some dimension to an otherwise plain athleisure look!
Is anyone else loving this “athleisure” movement like I am? Do you prefer neutrals/solids or bright colors/patterns in your workout wear?

I too love the new trend in style! It makes it easy to go from the barre studio to running errands to working around the house. It’s so comfy and forgiving now that there’s a growing baby bump. I am partial to wild and crazy colors and patterns but also have a good mix of neutral solids to pare the crazy down a bit. I just added a gray open backed sweater to the mix. Love it!
Exactly- they are great clothes to transition from at home to in public for sure! That open back sweater sounds awesome (and cozy!) Can’t wait to see that baby bump soon! xoxo
Yes!!! My favorite type of clothes! I could live in it (and do a lot of the time). I love the simple outfits but I also am a weirdo with bright colors… I can’t get enough!
I feel like I have a bit of both…there’s something about a fun, loud pair of leggings or a tank that I just can’t resist!
My favorite items to wear!!!

My thoughts exactly Jaymie :-)
Great way to incorporate the athleisure trend! I enjoy wearing a wide variety of athletic wear and have a huge range of colors and neutrals to mix and match. Thanks for linking up, Valerie! Let me know if you think you might like to co-host with me sometime.
Thanks Jennie. The neutrals are great to remix with the colorful stuff I have too!
