My boys love a good smoothie! I whip them up not only for breakfast, but as part of lunch or even a snack. And although my kids are decent eaters, there is ALWAYS room to get in more veggies and protein each day. This smoothie has just that, giving me peace of mind they are getting some good nutrients in.
We call it our peanut butter banana smoothie because that’s exactly what it tastes like (although it’s green from the spinach but that gives off zero taste!).
Here is what we you’ll need:
Easy, Kid (And Baby) Approved Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
milk
1-2 bananas (ideally frozen)
2 handfuls of fresh spinach
1 scoop of protein powder (optional)
2 scoops of PB powder, or lil mixins
small handful of ice cubes (if you like smoothies really cold!)
What to do:
Add all solid ingredients to the blender and then fill blender with milk until it covers 1/2 of the contents (you can always add more if needed). Top with ice cubes and blend! Serve in kid proof/spill proof cups (these are our favorite!)
We just got some Lil Mixins Infant Peanut Powder to try, so we have used that and the kids love it. It contains only 100% organic peanuts, and the Lil Mixins line of products is designed to help parents introduce their infants to peanuts, eggs and other foods the safe and easy way. Blake has been given peanut butter and other nut products for a while now per the pediatrician’s advice, but for younger babies (4-6 months) that are just being introduced to peanuts, it is ideal. You can mix it with baby food purees, mashed bananas, applesauce, etc., and has no sugar, salt, additives or GMOs. Plus, one jar will last until your baby is old enough to safely eat peanut butter AND unlike adult peanut powders, it doesn’t clump or thickin with mixed with liquid so it’s safe for baby to eat.. You can get these on Amazon or on their website. And get 20% of you order with promo code MOMSMEET20.
