Admittedly, I missed blogging about my outfits, and I’m glad to be back at it with another style post for you! Here are a couple looks that are perfect for winter and the holidays featuring pieces from a favorite brand of mine, Everlane.

When you look back at my style posts, you can see I’ve narrowed in on my style and found my uniform: neutral colors in black, gray or olive, black and white stripes, jeans or leggings, completer pieces like a vest, utility jacket or blazer/cardigan, and a handful of dresses, skirts and shorts to round things out for dressier occasions and warmer months. I’m finding I actually reach for these items in my closet and wear them so I know they don’t sit around wasting space. I feel like I am *finally* curating a closet full of items I love. They work hard for me, make me feel good, and earn their space in my closet.
Today’s two looks are no exception to this, and they feature some pieces from one of my favorite ethical and high quality brands: Everlane. It’s no secret that I love their items- from basic tees to cozy cashmere sweaters, pants, shoes and more. Their pieces are true workhorses in my closet.

EVERLANE ANKLE WORK PANT
In the spirit of a closet update, I knew I needed to replace my worn out (literally, the leg hem stitching was falling apart) black dress pants from The Limited. So as a replacement, I tried the Everlane Ankle Work Pant. They are made of sleek, comfortable 4-way stretch cotton and have a flattering high-waist and skinny cut that hits right above the ankle (I’m 5’5″ for reference.) The leg-lengthening back seam gives it a nice polished look too. I also love the side zipper versus the traditional zipper/closure placement on the front of the pants, which sometimes pokes out underneath blouses and bugs me. The side zip gives your front a nice smooth look. Size-wise, I tried the 8 but it was a bit snug at the elastic waistband for my liking. The 10 was much better. After a full day of wear, they didn’t sag or bag out all that much, which is a huge win. I love the all black base layers with the warm tones and texture of the cognac moto jacket (in medium), which is under $40! The necklace adds a nice finishing touch, and you can always swap out the shoes for a leopard d’orsay flat or colored heel to elongate the legs.
Everlane Cashmere V-Neck Sweater | Scarf | Everlane Ankle Work Pant | Everlane Day Heel
CASHMERE V-NECK SWEATER
This cashmere v-neck is amazing. It’s cozy and soft and not bulky. It has a slightly relaxed fit, but it true to size. (I’m in a medium here.) I went with (surprise!) a classic black, which will pair with just about everything in my closet. Such a great price point for cashmere too!
For a holiday look, I went with a classic black base and added a subtle yet festive pop of red with a scarf. I wore it to a holiday event at church and it was comfortable and put together. In the past, I would have purchased something trendy for the season or in a bright holiday color (all the glitter/plaid/you name it), but in the end, I wouldn’t wear it beyond a single occasion or two. It’s definitely saved me time and money by sticking to pieces that I know I love in the long haul.
DAY HEEL in Pecan Stacked
I adore this shoe. Regardless of the color scheme you go with in your wardrobe, I feel like every gal needs a nude color heel- so classic and literally goes with everything. They fit true to size (I’m wearing a 9) and although they are the slightest bit snug in the toe box, it will stretch a bit since it’s quality leather. The heel height is just enough height (2 inches) without the discomfort and the back of the heel is elastic which is SO DANG comfortable. Honestly, I could walk in these heels for most of the day, which is saying something.
I’m considering the red pair for a fun pop of color now…

Everlane is really making their way as a favorite clothing brand of mine. I’m really impressed with all their styles and the fact that it is an ethical company that still offers reasonable prices on great pieces. I highly recommend trying them out if you haven’t!

Glad you are back to blogging Valerie and that you have found and re-found your style niche. I always love you in classics and neutrals. Both outfits are so chic. Love the pop of red via that printed neck scarf. Also, those block heel nude pumps are fabulous!
