Happy Valentine’s Day everybody! Do you have any plans with your Valentine this evening?
My husband and I plan to go out for dinner and then cuddle up on the couch at home with a movie. (We plan to watch Taken 2 because 1- because Liam Neeson is a badass and 2- what says romance like a suspenseful action movie?!)
And earlier today, I had my first ever blogger meetup! I met Kim from ilaxSTUDIO for lunch (and luckily, she lives really close to me!) If you don’t follow her blog, you should! She does great posts on a variety of topics that we can all relate to and she is quite the runner/athlete. Quite inspirational if you ask me!
We both share an affinity for life in the suburbs and maybe, just maybe, she can convince me to run a half marathon this year!
When I got home, there was a Valentine’s Day package from the family with all kinds of baked goods and other treats. WOO HOO! There was even a gift for Izzy…a pink Oscar de la Renta collar and leash! Yes, my dog sports nicer labels than I do…but she deserves the best! :-)
Izzy loved her fashionable new “necklace!”
Anyways, in honor of Valentine’s Day, I pulled together a few looks that are casual, dressy, work appropriate, etc. It was fun to work with the pink/red/fuscia colors, especially because I love the color pink and have a lot of it in my closet! But what surprised me as I created these outfits was that I don’t own any red! (I have one tank, but that’s it! I think that needs to change STAT!)
I created four looks…with the first being a work appropriate outfit. This pink pencil skirt with my thrifted polka dot button up works well and the belt pulls the outfit together. (shirt- thrifted, skirt: Target, belt: Loft, shoes: DSW)
The second look is a more casual look that could still work for the office, or if you are out and about running errands, at meetings, etc. without being too “Valentine’s Day-ish!” I actually think that my cognac boots would be a good compliment to the tank instead of all black on the bottom now that I see this photo! (shirt: Target, tank: Target, pants: H&M, boots: Target)
The third look can be worn out for a night on the town, especially if you don’t want to wear a dress and it’s too cold outside. The statement necklace adds a nice pop of color and matches well with the colored denim. (necklace: eBay, blazer: Old Navy, shirt: Old Navy, pants: Loft, shoes: DSW)
The final outfit is more dressy and can be worn for a special date out on the town! The sequined skirt is actually a dress, but I added a shirt over it thanks a tip from Erin at Loop Looks and inspiration from Jess at Here & Now! (blazer: Loft, shirt: Target, dress: NY&Co, shoes: DSW)
So there you have it! Valentine’s Day outfits…from work to a night on the town!
Which outfit(s) do you like best?
Linking up for this Friday’s Fancies edition (red & pink) at Long Distance Loving.
I love your third look – black and purple are great together. And your dog’s fancy collar is so cute. I’ve been known to spoil my pup from time to time :)
Yeah I think that one is my favorite too :-) Our pups deserve the best!
Loving your looks! Super cute pup too!
Happy Friday & have a great weekend!
