So I wore this to work in anticipation of some lovely spring weather but what do I get today? Flash flood warnings, severe thunderstorms, road closures and school closings. UGH. We had some fun hail yesterday and today our offices are closed…but at least floral prints will cheer me up!
I love this dress (mainly because I picked it up on clearance for $13.98 in February…) but I kinda feel like I could pass as an extra on Suburgatory or The Real Housewives. Something about the floral and the cut of the dress makes me think it’s housewife-ish?! Or if I threw on a big floppy hat, I could wear it for a day at the races at the horse track. Hmmm…what do you think?

I adore the colors in this dress, and it looks great on you. Perfect work-friendly length and a great dress up or dress down piece. Hooray versatility! Stay dry and safe today!!!
Thanks Rachel! I wore it with a fuscia cardigan to work–super versatile indeed! Any flooding by you guys? Stay safe!!
I always feel that way in florals! I guess that’s the one pattern I can’t quite get comfortable in, just like some people can’t do leopard. The cut of the dress is super cute, though, and fits you really well.
Ok Erin- I’m glad I’m not the only one! I feel like I could walk on the set of Desperate Housewives or something! I think since this dress is floral all over it really got me thinking about moreso than a smaller item like a floral scarf or a top, etc.
That dress is an awesome print! Too bad about the weather!
Thanks Tara- yeah the weather is a total bummer…hope it gets better- I want some warm temps STAT!
I don’t think it’s “housewifey” at all! i see young urban professional ready for spring ;)
Oh I’m so glad, Fran! You made my day! :-) High five girl!
Hi! I am visiting from Bri’s linkup today, and love this floral dress on you! I can totally see you at the derby with a big hat and a mint julep. ;)
Avec Amber
Thanks for reading Amber! Yeah this dress would be perfect for the derby :-)
I think you look darling, Valerie! The colors on the dress are gorgeous, and I love the way you styled it simply. Does the belt detach? If so, you could try it with a contrasting colored belt, or a wider belt for a new look? Otherwise, it could be dressed up or down with different shoes, or blazers, or a denim jacket, or cardigans…? Either way, that’s a great dress, and the price certainly is right :)
Thanks Brynn! Yes the belt does detach (although there are loops sewn onto the dress) but I could easily cover that up with another belt–genius! Lots of options!
I adore this dress!! And I totally agree that wearing florals cheers me up even if the weather is crappy! Thank you SO much for linking up – I wish I would have seen this dress at Target back in the winter – so many great ways to wear that cut, I think!!
Thanks Bri! Yeah gotta love Target and florals- loved this month’s link up!
