It’s time to see where I netted out this month. I’m still trying to stick to my resolution to buy only one item a month (with some fine print). I did pick up a few items with a gift card I had earned via work so this doesn’t count since I didn’t pay out of pocket (but I must say, I did only try to purchase items to fill a hole in my closet or replace something that was worn out, which included two items from my wish list last month: colored denim and a white lace tee. I also found a replacement for my worn out navy/white striped tee which I was stoked about!)
I also had a little bit of income this month as a result of my closet purge in January via eBay and consignment store sales, which covered the cost of this gorgeous peplum top that Ginny from My New Favorite Outfit was selling on Instagram (with a 20% off sale, I might add!)
So, the one thing I did end up purchasing this month was a workout outfit from Fabletics. I was curious to see what Kate Hudson’s workout line was all about…it claims to be of comparable quality to Athleta and Lululemon and new members get a 2 piece outfit for just $25! (Once I receive it in the mail, I’ll be sure to do a review!) I ended up selecting the Enliven set but opted for the lavender capris:
As for items on my list moving forward:
1. Booties (not sure if I want black or tan yet)
2. Gingham button up shirt
3. White lace tank or tee
4. Colored denim
5. Spring/summer dress for special occasions
6. Floral, patterned or fringe scarf
7. Spring coat (perhaps a trench?)
I’m also obsessing over two pairs of shoes…the flats are super remixable and would go with just about everything and the pair on the right is just so dang cute for spring/summer!
The first pair is from Target and the second pair is from DSW. (And there is a 15% off shoes coupon at Target.com AND I’ve got a $10 DSW Rewards Certificate burning a hole in my wallet.) Hmmmm…
In terms of blog partnerships sponsored items, I also received a headband/necklace and Sea Star wedges from Fibi & Clo. (Read my review here.) Wanted to share in the spirit of full transparency!
So there you have it!
How did you do this month?

I’ve been in the market for booties for perhaps a year now. I’m so picky… so tell me if you snag some that you love!
Will do! I think I’ve waiting so long because I’m picky too lol!
Great buys! I like those shoes, too. Where did you buy your navy and white striped tee replacement? I am in the market for one. :)
Thanks Carly! The navy/white tee was from the Banana Republic Outlet!
Those cut out booties are so cute! Can’t wait to hear how your Fabletics purchase works out!
I know right?! Hoping to post my review next week…
I really love this idea of purchasing 12 items during a year. I started a no shopping year in January. Like you, I have a few exceptions. My hubby gave me gift cards for Christmas so I would not get discouraged in this endeavor. His idea of the challenge was similar to yours – not spending 2014 “new” money. It is a great compromise and I’m grateful for the gift cards.
I hadn’t heard of the Kate Hudson line of athletic wear. I’m going to have to check it out.
That is so great that you husband is so supportive too! Great idea!
I’m going to go out on a limb and say you NEED those booties! I love them! I know, I’m a bad enabler – but they’re fab! Great job this month! I plead the fifth! ;)
Hehehe- I love the support secretly :-) If they fit well in person, they will likely be coming home with me. Not gonna lie…
I love those two toned Chanel like ballet flats. Visiting from Tres Chic fashion :)

Yes- that is so right– totally Chanel like!
I am an unashamed Fabletics ADDICT. I can’t wait to pick out my 3rd outfit tomorrow! I wear all the pieces and it’s my motivation to work out. Plus, if you refer two people, you earn a free $50 credit towards an outfit. Those Lima capris are one of my favorite things.
Oh love it!!! Have you done a blog review? Would love to read it!
Even better, I’ve done TWO! Here are my posts with the Fabletics tag. :)
You did great. So proud of you. I am glad you added 2 items from your Wish List. I should be posting what I got either this weekend or Monday at the latest. =)
Have a Great Weekend, Ada.
Aww thank you Ada- I appreciate it! Anxious to see what you got!
Whoot whoot! I love Fabletics! Also, those flats are too cute!
Thanks Rachel! My Fabletics review goes live on Tuesday– have you done a review on the line? Would love to read it!
Wow that is such an awesome goal to only buy 12 pieces per year. I don’t think I could ever do it! At least you know if you’re being picky you’re bound to buy things you love. I had no idea Kate Hudson came out with a workout line. Yes, let us know how it goes!

Thanks Kaitlin- it’s tough but so worth it so far! Only 10 months to go LOL! And my Fabletics review is going live on Tuesday so be sure to check back!
I admire your goal of purchasing one item a month! That’s awesome. Both the shoes you’re looking at are really cute, too.
Thanks Sammi- I appreciate the support! I think I’m leaning towards the booties at this point- we will see! :-)
Looking forward to seeing your review of Fabletics. I need to get some new cute workout clothes. Also I think that your idea of only piece per month is great! You’ve inspired me to give that a shot one month!
See What Katie Wears
Thanks Katie! My Fabletics review post is coming this Tuesday so be sure to stop back! And WAY TO GO on trying one item a month! You can do it!! Let me know how it goes!
I could use some new workout wear – I’ll have to check out Fabletics. And I’ll be watching for your review!
Plus, I am so impressed that you are sticking to 1 new piece each month!
Thanks Anna Belle- 2 months down, 10 to go- eek! PS- Fabletics review is coming on Tuesday so be sure to check back!
Wow, 12 pieces in one year! That’s quite the goal! Thanks for the shout out and I’m glad you like the top :)
2 months down, 10 to go– eek! Thanks again for the top- hope to wear it soon!
You did so well this month! I love the peplum-like top and the shoes too. I did horribly this month. I definitely over-stress-shopped. Oh well.
Thank you so much! I’m excited to wear the top! I definitely stress shop, but it’s a little harder with this clothing resolution!
Ooooh I’m interested to hear what you think of the workout gear! I feel like every celebrity is coming out a fashion collaboration these days (which I think is great!).
Both of the shoes are so cute and you definitely have an excuse for both hah!
Just posted my review today: http://the-style-files.com/fabletics-fitness-apparel-review/ Smart of the celebrities to use that personal brand of theirs…her line is actually pretty great quality compared to other fitness brands!
Ooo! I like that peplum top! Very springy! That would look great with a denim jacket. I was looking at your Spring Wish List and I just purchased a scarf from White Plum that is very springy! It is the Watercolor Chevron Infinity scarf and it is better in person, trust me!
I am stopping by from Franish’s Budgeting Bloggers link up! Have a great week!
