I prefer skirts and dresses over pants any day. And this outfit is no exception. This black and white skirt from JC Penney is sophisticated and stylish and can be dressed up or down. In my case, I added an army jacket over it to make the look a bit more relaxed, but still office appropriate.
Both the skirt and jacket are so remixable (case in point) and are honestly my two favorite items of clothing right now! I’ve owned two different army/cargo jackets from Old Navy and Kohl’s, but the fit wasn’t quite right on either of them. But as it turns out, I stumbled upon this one from the Loft at a consignment store back in November! I love the lace collar, gathered waist and zip closure…and it was only $17!

Super cute! Love the look of the skirt and jacket together. I don’t have my striped skirt anymore, but I bet if I wear my military jacket over a striped dress, it would have a similar effect!
