BarkBox Review

Let me just take a moment to say…Happy Snow Day to meee!

That’s right, I have a snow day.  The entire county seems to have shut down in anticipation for this monster snow storm coming through Chicago, but we haven’t seen much snow.  Yet.

Anyways, the snow day gave me an opportunity to go through my first BarkBox with Izzy!
When I saw a Groupon for it, I jumped on it!

So what is it?
On the 15th of every month, BarkBox ships a bounty of high-end dog products to your dog’s doorstep. Tailored to the size of your dog, every box comes stocked with four or more items that can encompass anything from innovative toys and gadgets to shampoos, leashes, and organic treats. And even better, a portion of all proceeds go to help dog shelters and rescue initiatives. Regular prices start at $29 a month based on the size of your dog, but if you choose a 3 month or 6 month subscription, the prices goes down.  (I chose the “just right” or medium size since Izzy is right at 50 pounds, and I thought it the items were a good fit.)

Here is what came in my first Barkbox:

And a fun toy for Izzy to play with that you put treats in…SUPER fun to watch her try and figure it out!

And an all-natural bear toy rounded out the box of goodies.

I knew this one wouldn’t last long.  Izzy has a knack for destroying soft, fuzzy, cuddly things.  Case in point:

And that only took her 10 minutes.  Impressive!

Either way, I’d say the BarkBox was worth it at the discounted Groupon price!  It was nice for Izzy to have some new toys and different brands of treats to sample…we are already looking forward to the next one!
