We know the Internet has no shortage of gift guides for the holidays right now, but I thought I’d share a roundup of items that are a bit more practical as you put together your shopping list this season. I don’t know about you, but I’m all about trying to find the meaningful/practical gifts that actually get used over the long term vs. items that are “one and done” or are short lived. Enjoy!
1. Return address stamp
This gift is wonderful particularly for someone that may have moved recently. Etsy and other retailers have tons of options out there, with some unique and super cool options!
2. pediped® footwear (scroll to the bottom of this post for a giveaway!)
The boys have been using this brand since they started to learn to walk!
They are made with leather soles that are diamond treated for a little added grip with lots of flexibility for little feet. And their shoes are all certified by the American Podiatric Medical Association for being beneficial for developing feet. Now that they are bigger, we still love this brand for their quality and design. (I’m getting them each a new pair here and here this year for Christmas!)
pediped® footwear is sold in over 200 stores in the United States and worldwide with an offering of more than 120 designs for boys and girls between their three lines:
–Originals® (soft-soled shoes for newborns to 24 months)
–Grip ‘n’ Go™ (thin rubber-soled shoes for children ages 9 months to 3 years)
–Flex® (rubber-soled shoes for children 3 to 9+ years) are available in EU sizes ranging from 20 to 36.
Psst…scroll down to win a pair!
3. The Adventure Challenge
I stumbled upon this while online and LOVE the concept. They make a series of books that are scratch-off keepsakes, each with 50 unique adventures. They make versions for couples, family, friends, solo and more!
Each adventure helps you disconnect from devices and reconnect with loved ones, explore outside your habits, dive deeper into your relationships, make meaningful memories and have fun. It’s neat in that you don’t know what you’re doing till you scratch it off!
4. Peloton (bike, tread or just the app)
I’ve owned my bike for 3.5 years now and I can honestly say it is the BEST investment/gift for overall health and well being. It’s so easy (especially come winter) to get a workout in, not have to drive to a gym, be exposed to gross gym germs, etc. from the comfort of your home! Whether you use just their app for a HUGE range of classes (from boot camps to strength, running, yoga or meditation), or use the app with a piece of their equipment like the tread or bike, you seriously won’t regret it. Get a free 60 day guest pass here. And if you purchase a tread or bike with my code KCSBNB, you’ll get $100 towards accessories!
5. Geometry Towels
Anyone else have some oooold kitchen towels in need of an upgrade? (Yeah, me too.) Geometry towels are not-so-ordinary tea towels. With gorgeous designs (who wouldn’t want these sitting out?!), the towels are a fun and functional way to freshen up your kitchen’s look. The waffle-weave construction provides superior cleaning and drying without scratching. The towels are super absorbent – absorbing 7x its weight in liquid. There are tons of designs to choose from, including a holiday collection, and they come in tea towels, mini towels, wash cloths, dinner napkins and eco friendly paper towels. And starting Friday 11/26 through Monday, they are have a 20% off site-wide sale AND you can stack my code ValerieP15 for an extra 15% off for a total of 35% off!
6. Black + Decker Corded Vacuum + Steam Mop (Model #BDXSMV190G)
With two messy-prone boys and a dog, I feel like I’m always cleaning my floors. With this awesome device from Black + Decker, I can save time by doing my vacuuming and mopping all in one on my hardwood floors! It’s one of my least favorite cleaning tasks and the fact that I can do double duty is HUGE! I also love that it is chemical free cleaning by using just water to kill up to 99% of germs and removes tough dirt and grime with the microfiber pad that you can throw in the washer. It’s safe to use on all sealed surfaces around the home including sealed hardwood, tile, stone, grout, wood, laminate and granite. It heats up fast and the mop/vac feature worked great for me. Well worth it for something I use so often!
7. Tabletopics
These cubes are the perfect option for just about anyone on your list. They have questions to help you spark fun, interesting conversations with friends, family and acquaintances. I love keeping a cube at our table during meals and gifting to others. They have themed versions for just about anyone you can think of as well as conversation packs and travel packs.
PS- as for some honorable mentions for gifting…

Also, I am a big fan of Beautycounter for their clean beauty products. I swear by their skincare products like their Countertime cleansing oil and serum, overnight resurfacing peel and All Bright C Serum. I also looove the new mascara, blush and concealer- my makeup staples. They have some awesome deals and holiday sets that are perfect for gift giving (and for trying out for the first time since some items are in smaller sizes.)
