So one of my favorite bloggers, Audrey at Putting Me Together, is hosting a 7×7 remix challenge. The idea of the challenge is to show 7 outfits created from 7 pieces (including shoes and excluding accessories) to help you to stretch your ideas for different & new ways to wear a small number of items. I love the idea! I always wanted to do a 30×30 challenge but it still seems do daunting to me but 7×7?! Totally do-able! It’s is realistic too…especially if you are traveling or ahem, behind on laundry :-)
I selected the pieces of clothing that are classic and summer-oriented and in my mind, are good closet staples that can make outfits for dressy to laid back occasions. And….I ended up with 8 outfits (extra credit for me!?) I had a 9th outfit but it was really pushing it…my husband even said it was not that great so no photos of that one- I’ll spare you the look! Links to all the items are further below (and most of the items were bought within the last few months via my monthly clothing budgets). Hope you enjoy!
Outfit #1– relaxed look–perfect for running errands. Paired it with drop earrings to dress it up a bit!
Outfit #2– lace top with white denim– the lace top really makes the outfit a lot more dressy! I’d wear this out to dinner if I wasn’t in the mood to wear a skirt or dress.
Outfit #3– I did some layering with my green tee and chambray..and more white denim! Love these jeans (as long as I don’t stain them!)
Outfit #4– Add a skirt to the lace top and this look becomes much dressier! Great for church, work or date night!
Outfit #5– Dressed down the skirt by adding the green tee (PS- this tee from Old Navy is SO comfortable and at a great price! I plan to stock up on more once my Super Cash is valid at the end of the month.)
Outfit #6- Classic chambray on top with the skirt…added the belt because I felt there was too much blue going on! Could have used some fun colorful earrings, but I forgot on this one- whoops!
Outfit #7– Yes, I included print cropped pants in my 7 pieces! I wanted to show that these were versatile! I like the different textures with the lace and pattern in the pants!
Outfit #8– I love green and navy together! A more relaxed look than #7 above.
And here are all the looks together! Which one(s) are your favorite? Tell me in the comments below!

Very cute looks! I love that you used color, texture, and pattern in your 7 pieces. I’m curious – why not use the Polka dot chambray with the Cropped printed pants? Do the patterns not mix well IRL?
Yeah the 9th look was the chambray and cropped printed pants..with all the blue/navy I looked pretty washed out. I tried accessories and belts but I just couldn’t pull it off. Thanks for reading!
I just saw this challenge earlier and am going to be doing it soon. I love your different looks you styled. I would love for you to linkup your look with my neon trendspin linkup from yesterday. ; ) Next week’s theme is floral.

Those espadrilles are the cutest!
Thanks Kristin! Yeah I’ve worn them so much already- the khaki color goes with everything!
Yes! You definitely get extra credit for that 8th look! :) I love all your looks – especially the ones with that super cute pink lace top! I just love lace so much, and in pink – perfect! Good job!
Yeah, I’m patting myself on the back for the 8th look :-) The 9th one was a stretch and not blog worthy! I LOVE my pink lace top! I want one in every color! Thanks for reading Ashley!
I love this challenge! My favorite piece is the jCrew pink top, so pretty!

I had the same thought – 30×30 seems like a huge undertaking, but 7×7 was totally do-able. I love what you came up with!
I love the pink and green. So pretty and those white jeans look great with so many things!
These looks are so classic! #7 is really fun, I love that lace pink top.
Ooo! I like them all! I want to see mystery #9! I would worry about getting the white pants dirty, too. Sigh. I still need to take my white blazer to the dry cleaner.
Haha maybe one day on my camera but definitely not for the blog! Oooh white blazer sounds lovely! Safer than white pants I’d say! Not by much though!
These are sooooooo cute! That pink lace top is adorable, and I love it with the skirt and the white jeans! Cute cute cute!
Appreciate the comment Audrey! I think the pink lace top with white jeans is my fave look personally! Thanks for hosting!
Look number two is definitely my fave. I love the bright pink against the white. I would just suggest a different color necklace to stand out more against the pink! Maybe white or silver?
Great job!

You picked great pieces! Navy, green, and pink are a classic prepster combo for a reason, right? :-)
I wanted to do this challenge but didn’t have enough notice and was too busy this past weekend. But I can still do it later, right??
Yeah I realized my choices were straight out of the J.Crew color wheel haha! I would LOVE to see your looks- it’s never too late!
I think the link-up is open for another 5-6 days. No one will care if you are FASHIONABLY late to the party! ; )
cute cute cute!

I love outfit number six! Adding the pink belt helps define your waist and gives a tad more structure to the skirt.
LOVE all of these looks and such a great color palette to work with. Great job on the 7×7 challenge!!
Thanks Sherry! Glad you liked it!
