I am such a huge fan of dresses (and skirts). I’d pick them over shorts, capris or dress pants any day! So speaking of dresses, I especially love this one from Old Navy. I’ve already worn this dress quite a bit, as you’ll see below. It’s casual cotton-spandex blend makes it soft and comfy but also makes for a very polished look when you accessorize it with the right shoes, layering pieces, etc. It hugs curves in all the right places and get this: it was under $20! (In fact, it’s on clearance now, but only in a red/navy version.) I’ve already re-cooped the cost on this since I’ve worn it so many times. Score!
Check out the ways I styled this B&W striped dress for the Five Days Five Ways linkup…
First up, lots of “pops” of color with these fun tights and a statement necklace! (Necklace=Ebay, Tights & boots=Target)
Next up is some pattern mixing and layering! I added the mint flats for a bit of color. (Top=thrifted, flats=Target)
And because this dress is so flexible/form fitting, I decided to put a skirt OVER it and added a belt! The longer pencil skirt worked well for this! Revolutionary, right?! (Belt=Loft Outlet, Skirt & Shoes= Target)
This next look is a more classic, professional look. The blazer/belt combo is so pretty- probably my favorite look! (Belt=TJ Maxx, Blazer=Old Navy)
The last look adds some fun color-coordinated accessories. I LOVE coral by the way. I should dig up my high school prom photo because I had the most awesome coral dress, not gonna lie! (Scarf=J. Crew Factory, Flats=Target)
And here are a few other ways I’ve worn the dress: mustard, cognac & stripes, teal blazer & bubble necklaces with stripes.
Come back tomorrow for 5D5W: Casual Friday edition! And check out my other 5 Days, 5 Ways posts: tops, pants and accessories!

Ah! I have this dress, too, and LOVE IT!! I was totally going to wear it for 5D5W today, but decided to go with a different dress :) I love all the ways you have styled it! It is such a great “blank canvas” kind of dress, isn’t it?! My favorite way you wore it here is either with the blazer and the blue belt or with the pencil skirt. I’m new to wearing dresses as skirts or shirts, and I’d love to try this look out with some of my skirts!!
Yes!! It is such a great “blank canvas” dress! If they had it in multiple colors/patterns, I’d totally buy more of them haha!
Love this post and showing different ways of styling this dress. Thanks for linking up today.

Me too- even though it is striped it really is a blank canvas to accessorize! SO glad to see that you looked at my pin. Thanks for reading Angie!
I already said this on Fran’s post, but I totally bought this dress and then had to return it because it sprouted a hole in it the first and only time I got to wear it. And they were sold out when I went to exchange, so i was out of luck! Such a great dress, and I love how you have styled it!
Oh no!!! Yeah that just shows how dang popular the dress is. Maybe you can find it on Poshmark or eBay or something? (That’s what I’m hoping to do for a Loft lace top that is no longer in stores..) Thanks for reading Andi!
I love stripes and I love all these looks, it’s hard to pick! I think the coral pops of color is my favorite! Thanks for linking up today for Thursday Target Threads!
Thanks Peggy- yeah, I’m a sucker for coral!
This dress is really popular! I have a striped dress (navy & white) but hardly ever wear it. I should get on that and put it with my navy blazer. That’s my favorite look of yours: the blazer and skinny belt.
It IS..I can’t believe it! Just as popular as the Old Navy army vest it seems! Oh you could rock a navy/white striped dress so many ways! I agree with you on the blazer/belt look- my fave too!
i love this post! great idea on the different ways to wear the dress!

Thanks Lala! Glad you found it to be useful! :-)
beautiful! I love that one with the polka dot shirt over it. Big fan of pattern mixing, this girl! haha.
Yay– I have never been one to pattern mix before so I thought it’d be good to start small with two black and white things. Glad you like! :-)
I like the first way to style the dress the best. The purple really makes it stand out from the crowd.
Thanks Leelee- nothing like some fun tights to make an outfit pop!
The last look is my FAVORITE! Love that color.

Thanks Tallia! I’m really diggin that look and the blazer look as my top picks!
My striped t-shirt dress is one of the most worn items in my closet! I love how it is a “blank canvas” for adding so many colorful accessories. The first outfit of yours is my favorite with the purple tights!
Exactly! I think the cost per wear on this dress has already paid for itself easily! The tights are so fun- thanks for reading!
I’m a big fan of this dress! I have a striped dress from Old Navy (not this one, but thinner, even stripes)–and it has been my “comfy dress” that I fall back on instead of dress up and use multiple ways. I love all the inspiration here!

Old Navy knows how to make a comfy (and affordable) dress! I have a few from them and they are all great! Glad you got some inspiration from this and thanks for hosting the link up- it was a blast!
Oh my gosh. The skirt OVER the dress does pretty much blow my mind!!!
I know– isn’t that crazy?! I was like wait…this might work–and it did! Go figure!
