Exercising is one of the top ways I’m staying sane while we’ve been in quarantine. These are four at home workouts I’ve been doing that I am loving lately!
While we’re all at home, it’s super important to get your heart pumping and burn some calories. It improves your mood, your emotional state, and clears your mind. I’ve been making a huge effort to do an at home workout every single day, and I wanted to share four favorites I’ve been doing lately. And the best part? All of these have free trials or a free component to them to try them out!
Check out this post for my favorite athletic wear brands and this post on my favorite sneakers!
1. Kira Stokes
During the quarantine, celebrity trainer Kira Stokes has been doing IG Live workouts with celebs…my favorite of which being Candace Cameron Bure. They stay live for 24 hours, and I’ve done several already. I love that they aren’t super jarring on your body, but are still a tough workout. She uses minimal equipment: weights, a mat, resistance bands (I use these), and gliders (I use paper plates on my carpeted floor and they work fine.) The moves are challenging and I really like per personality. Her app offers a 7 day free trial, and runs $14.99 a month, with a discount for paying for a year upfront. There are TONS of classes there, even a 21 day ab challenge going on now too. I am very tempted to get this app!
I found Madeline via another style blogger that has been using her program with great results. Madeline offers free workouts on her Instagram page, and you can also sign up for a 3 day PDF workout that you can download. Her method is weight and strength training based, with cardio busts in between. I love to incorporate more weight lifting into my workouts, and her style is very challenging which I love. She has an app as well for $20 a month (cheaper for a year) and several programs/options to choose from. I won a free month to her app, so I will give this a go soon and report back if you guys are interested!
Again, another Instagram fitness find! I started off with Lauren’s Fitmas program last year (read about it here), and really enjoyed it and the results. Lots of weight/strength training with cardio moves sprinkled in. She has a variety of workouts plans available for purchase that are very affordable (under $20). I’ve done her Weight Training 3.0 plan, and she just came out with a 30 Day Home Workout Plan. She’d been posting moves daily on her Instagram page and they make for great workouts!
4. Peloton
Of course, I can’t say enough about Peloton. They are currently offering access to their app for free for 90 days. It usually runs $12.99 a month. You can access to stream a HUGE variety of classes: cycling, running (audio for outdoors, and treadmills version), strength, HIIT, yoga, bootcamp and meditation classes. I’ve had my bike for almost two years now and I can tell you hands down, it is the best investment I’ve made in my health. I’ve been taking classes live with friends lately, which has been really fun too!
You can get the bike at 0% financing, and they have a 30 day try at home option so there really is nothing to lose if you want to try it. Plus, use code KCSBNB for $100 off!
Another brand I’m loving lately when it comes to athletic wear? K-Deer. These leggings are like BUTTER and are super cute. I personally love their Signature Stripes collection. Each one of their Signature Stripes is named after an inspiring woman and supports a cause that is close to her heart. With every purchase, 5% of e-commerce sales are donated to charities raising awareness and creating positive change for individuals and communities in need. Right now, the Izzy Stripe is on sale! They make them in a longer legging style, ankle 7/8 style and capri. Plus, they have kids sizes and matching sports bras too! Adorable.
Shop the leggings: K-Deer Leggings in Izzy Stripe (7/8 sneaker length)– I wear this in a medium // capri option // legging option
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day through Friday (4/24), you can save 20% on K-Deer’s Izzy Stripe with code PARKS20. AND get another 4% off when you use a free Rakuten account to shop K-Deer!
5% of K-Deer’s e-commerce sales will be donated to the National Parks Foundation for the Izzy Stripe. Valid 4/20 through 4/24. Plus, free shipping in the US on orders $75 or more!
My barre studio (Barre + Beyond) began doing live classes as soon as we needed to stay at home. It has been a life saver! I kept my workout routine and even added a few classes in, with the additional time I have on my hands (no commuting for work gives me an extra 1.5 hours!). If I don’t have time to catch a live class, the video library is available and being added to consistently. I’ve also joined Peloton and love using it for the treadmill classes. I *hate* running inside but this has made a difference, I actually look forward to it. Now, if I can stop stress eating….
Way to go in sticking to workouts– it’s not easy when your routine changes completely for weeks at a time! You’ve been doing GREAT at the runs- I see you logging the miles girl! Fave instructors so far? And YES on the stress eating LOL. If I didn’t workout, I’d be in serious trouble!!!
