So I realized I didn’t have a post summing up my running in 2013! I spent all that time tracking everything in Google Docs, I might as well record it all on the blog right?!
2013 was a great year to really get me back into running again. I met some great friends from the Chicago Running Bloggers group and did several long runs with friends, which up until this point, I had been a solo runner. Just me and my music. But running with people makes for so much more fun! It was definitely a fun-filled year with lots of miles!
Here are the stats…
Races ran: 8
Trails run on: At least 7?!
Places run: IL, IN, WI and somewhere in the middle of the Caribbean…
Total miles ran in 2013: 617.51
Highest mileage month: July – 86.32 miles (most of my long runs for Fort2Base were during this month)
Lowest mileage month: October – 27.12 miles (this is during the time when I started my new job)
New PR’s: 5k (24:14 at Iron Girl Tri), 10k (51:45) and 10 NM (1:44)—first ever 10NM but hey it’s still a PR!
Favorite race: Fort2Base (loved training and focusing on this race throughout the summer as my goal!)
Running shoes: 2 pairs (Saucony Mirage and Guide 6)
Best running purchase: Garmin 405CX watch!
Other workouts tried: Boot camp, pole dancing, FlyBarre, BodyPump, Shaun T25, various workout DVDs and Pinterest workouts

Cheers to a wonderful, active 2013 and to another
healthy, running-filled 2014!
Linking up with Style Elixir and Lauren Elizabeth.
Woo hoo! I loved reading this and seeing all you did this year! Do you even remember life before that watch? I mean… how did you know how far you ran and how fast? What was even the point? (lol, being funny)
Thanks Kim! It is nice to see everything in a post from last year…it’s missing a cool infographic though lol- maybe next year!
Honestly, I was running blind without that watch. What the hell was I thinking!? LOOOVE it!
I LOVE the jumping pic of us!
You had a great year of running. Can’t wait to see what you do in 2014!
Me too!! Such a great backdrop! Thanks Erin! Hopefully we can do some more races together this year!
Good for you!!! What an amazing recap of your year in running! Keep up the great work :)

aka Bailey
Thank you so much Bailey! I am so glad I did a recap so I could reflect on it all!
I enjoyed virtually traveling with you, learning about your milestones and seeing some of the faces of those you have befriended. It is wonderful that you get to pursue your passion. You ran a lot, laughed a lot and met a lot of new people so you had a terrific year with lots to be proud about. I hopped over from the Style Elixir link-up. I am sending you my best wishes for a very happy 2014,
Sharon

Thank you so much for the sweet words Sharon- I really appreciate it. Best wishes to you for a wonderful 2014!
Looks like a great/fun year! I also too some “new distance” PRs! For me 9K, 7.5 mile mountain race & duathlon. I think this year in style files, you need to find the perfect running shorts! I was obsessed w/my quest this summer but landed on a few :)
Thanks Erica! And congrats on your PRs…those are unique distances but sound super fun! As for the shorts, I need to find some that are spandex-like, any typical “running shorts” that are loser tend to ride up on me…super annoying! Otherwise, I default to a capri length but shorts would be nice in the warmer weather…which sounds nice right about now!
