Happy Monday! So last week, I hit 27 outfits in the 20 x 30 summer remix challenge. This week, I have another 11 outfits to share with you! I can’t believe how versatile the 20 pieces I selected really are! I was so daunted by this challenge at the beginning, but now that I’ve hit over 30 outfits- I’m feeling prettttty good. Next week is the last week of the challenge, where I will share a recap (and bonus! a few more outfits…I was going for some “extra credit.”)
If you recall, I decided to organize my remix by using anchor pieces to create new looks. Week 1 featured my floral dress as the anchor piece and week 2 featured outfits centered around my pair of white denim jeans. Week 3 featured my coral pencil skirt and little black dress.
So this week features outfits centered around my cream pencil skirt and dark wash jeans– two closet staples in my opinion! Below are larger shots of each outfit (note that shopping links can be found in my original “20 pieces” post here.)
Cream pencil skirt + maroon sheer blouse + cargo utility vest + nude heels
Cream pencil skirt + black v-neck tee + teal blazer + leopard print heels
Cream pencil skirt + pink lace top + cargo utility vest + nude heels
Cream pencil skirt + pink lace top + navy blazer + peep toe wedges
Cream pencil skirt + multicolor ruffle tank + navy heels
Cream pencil skirt + snakeskin print top+ pink peep toe wedges
Cream pencil skirt + maroon sheer blouse + cognac bow belt + cognac flats
Dark wash jeans+ black and white striped tee + cargo utility vest + pink peep toe wedges
Dark wash jeans + multicolor ruffle tank + navy blazer + navy heels– a nice look for “casual Friday” at my office!
Dark wash jeans + pink lace top + mustard cardigan + leopard scarf + nude heels– nice look for cooler days
Dark wash jeans + navy v-neck tee + mint flats + mint statement necklace
Which look from this week is your favorite?
Stay tuned for the rest of the remix challenge!
To recap this far…
My 20 pieces
Week 1: featuring a floral dress as the anchor piece
Week 2: featuring white denim as the anchor piece

So many cute outfits! I can’t pick a favorite zip love your white skirt too.
That skirt is super versatile- can’t go wrong with it!
So many great looks! You are absolutely ROCKING this challenge!!
Thank you Lauren- I appreciate it!
It’s amazing to see all the look you can come up with with only 20 pieces. I loved doing this challenge. I try to do this when I pack for trips. Makes things so much easier. Well done Valerie.

That’s a great point on doing this for travel when you have limited space- you must be a pro!
WOW, you are a remixing queen! I like the idea of choosing “anchor pieces” for each week. :)
LOL- thank you! I should add that title to my resume!! :-) Anchor pieces were so much easier for me to make sure I wasn’t repeating outfits!
Love your outfits. That cream skirt is so versatile!
Thanks you so much Becky! And yes- that skirt literally goes with everything. WIN!
Very cute! You are doing a fantastic job with this challenge! I love the white skirt and snakeskin top!
Thanks Laura- can’t believe the last week is coming up! It was a blast!
I love this white skirt! It’s the perfect neutral for summer!
I’m not lyin’ when I say it goes with absolutely everything! Love it!
Love this week’s outfits as well. I agree a white or cream pencil skirt and dark wash skinny jeans are wardrobe staples. Love all the looks you came up with, for that skirt. =) I cannot wait to see more outfits and the recap next week. So proud of you for remixing just 20 pieces in 40+ outfits. =)
Would love for you to stop by my blog and see the latest from me as well. Thanks, Ada. =)
Thanks for following along Ada- I appreciate it!
I love your 20 x 30 looks! You rock! I would not have been so creative and fashionable with it all! I am definitely stopping by again for more inspiration! I love your style and blog!
I appreciate the kind words! Thank you so much…you keep visiting :-)
You are rocking this challenge, Valerie! So many great looks. You chose so very versatile pieces to work with and it is totally paying off in a big way!
Thank you Carrie! It really helped to have colors that compliment each other nicely!
You are such a master of re-mixing! I love all these looks.
After seeing that snakeskin print top on your blog last week, I searched around for it on eBay and bought it for a steal. I know that kinda goes against the idea of remixing (i.e., using what you already have in your closet to make new outfits), but I just loved the ways you styled it so much!
Oh I’m SO glad you found it! (I have totally searched for something like that myself…but it may just end up being the most remixed item in your closet– totally worth it!)
So many great looks! You are rocking this challenge!

Thanks Jill! I’m having a blast with it!
I always enjoy your remix posts so much! You have a great eye for remixing! You make it look so easy!
Aww thank you for the kind words Carylee- I so appreciate it!
Another great week! I really like the burgundy with the olive green, but the snakeskin print blouse, cream pencil skirt and red peep toes is my favorite combo. Can’t wait to see your final looks! Have a great weekend, Valerie!
Thanks Caitlin! That snakeskin print top is a major workhorse in my closet now…a fan favorite!
I just found your blog through Inge’s, and I am incredibly impressed with how well you did with this challenge! Using an anchor piece each week was such a clever idea!
Thank you so much Kate- I appreciate it! I astonished myself too! What made it more manageable for me was counting up the outfits by the anchor piece- MUCH more doable! :-)
you look gorgeous in each and every one of these outfits!
Oooh, girl! I LOVE the outfit with the snakeskin print blouse + cream skirt, and the one with the striped shirt and olive vest. The latter is one of my favorite outfits to wear myself, so I definitely love it on you! I was so thrilled with my selection of pieces for the 20×30 remix as well – isn’t it so enlightening to see just how much you can get out of just a handful of pieces in your closet?!
You rock that look- I remember it! Such an eye-opening exercise…so much fun!
