Happy Monday! I can’t believe it, but this is the last post for the 20 x 30 summer remix challenge. Except I don’t think I can refer to it as a 20 x 30 challenge. Why? Because all in all, including this set of 7 outfits above, that brought me to a grand total of 45 outfits! I am still shocked that I was able to take 20 pieces of clothing and make 45 outfits. A 20 x 45 challenge! Just goes to show you how versatile your closet really is– you don’t need a lot to have a lot of options! I’ve become incredibly aware of how easy it is to remix my closet without having to head out to the store and shop. Really exciting stuff for me!
If you recall, I decided to organize my remix by using anchor pieces to create new looks. Week 1 featured my floral dress as the anchor piece and week 2 featured outfits centered around my pair of white denim jeans. Week 3 featured my coral pencil skirt and little black dress and week 4 featured my cream pencil skirt and jeans.
This final week features outfits centered around my leopard print skirt. Below are larger shots of each outfit (note that shopping links can be found in my original “20 pieces” post here.)
A workweek chic look: white button up, leopard print skirt, navy heels
Great workwear for the office on hot days: Maroon sheer blouse with white cami, leopard print skirt, nude heels
A casual Friday look (if your office doesn’t allow jeans): Navy v-neck tee, leopard print skirt, nude peep toe wedges
Mustard cardigan, navy v-neck tee, leopard print skirt, nude heels
White peplum top, leopard print skirt, navy heels
Adding the blazer gives it a completely different look: navy blazer, white peplum top, leopard print skirt, nude heels
And layering with a cargo vest gives it a more casual (but still put together) look: cargo vest, white peplum top, leopard print skirt, nude heels
So, which look is your favorite?
Below is an image you can pin for reference. I am SO pleased with the sheer number of outfits I came up with. Granted, some are just taking a basic shell or top and adding a blazer, cardigan or vest over it– but it really creates a different look! When I did this challenge, I wanted to be realistic and choose items I could wear to work so it would be a practical remix for me. And I think I’ve got a ton of “corporate chic” outfits to choose from now!

45 outfits, that’s awesome! I’ve always heard that on fashion shows and things that you tend to be more creative with a smaller number of clothing items. Kind of makes me want to thin out my closet a bit more (but to be honest, I probably won’t!) I really love all the outfits you’ve created! Awesome job :)
I’ve heard that too and have ALWAYS wanted to downsize to just like a rack of clothes (like on What Not to Wear or something…) but then I think that I’ve already paid for all of it so I can’t get rid of it…maybe just limiting future purchases would help! Thanks for reading!
I really enjoyed following along with your remix this month! I like how you organized your looks by anchor pieces–that definitely helps me think of new ways to wear similar items I have in my own closet. Well done, lady!
I appreciate you following along Caroline! Glad you enjoyed! It was a lot of work but SO worth it in the end- really opened my eyes to how many options I have right in my own closet!
Great job! I love that skirt with the burgundy, mustard, and navy! It goes with so much!
Me too- especially the mustard– it reminds me of fall and gets me all excited (now that I want summer to leave!)
Seriously great job! I just got a leopard skirt, so the top collage is great inspiration too.
Thanks Ginny! I think leopard print is one of the prints that every gal must own (I feel like all the bloggers do!)
I love all the ways you styled that animal print skirt. Great looks.

Thanks Agi- and to think I got that skirt at Goodwill with Target tags still attached for like $3 or something ridiculous!
Amazing job, Valerie! Love, love, love all the looks you created. I’m so glad you joined us for the challenge!!
Thanks for hosting Caitlin! Glad I got my act together and did it- such a worthwhile practice!
Wow! You did a really great job with this. I’m impressed and love all the ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Jen- it was such an eye opening experience to be able to put together so many outfits…let alone work appropriate ones! (And thanks again for the feature- I’m humbled!)
What a fantastic collection of outfits, Valerie! I can’t believe how versatile your leopard skirt is :) And holy cow, doesn’t it feel so fulfilling to be done with the challenge?! Wooooo!!! We did it!!
Thanks Brynn! Who would have thought a print like that could be remixed so much?! While I LOVED doing the challenge, I’m glad it’s over– a lot of work (and laundry!) Well done!!
YES! I have that exact skirt — picked it up at a local thrift store with the tag still attached!!!! — so I am super-excited to see all these remixes. I have an olive cargo vest but NEVER thought of wearing it with this pencil skirt. :)
I’ve also paired this skirt with purple + navy, as seen here at http://librarianforlifestyle.wordpress.com/2013/10/09/working-the-animal-print/
Twins!! It’s seriously one of my favorite skirts– and even better we both got it for cheap! I LOVE it with the purple- thanks for the idea!!!
Wow!!! Love so many of these outfits..I cannot pick a fav..but I have to say, my eyes were glued to the pink pencil skirt outfits..such a stunning color!! Thanks for a ton of inspiration..
xx
I love that skirt- such a fun pop of color! Thank you so much for reading- glad you enjoyed it!
