I don’t know where the inspiration for this outfit came from (probably a mix of Pinterest and the super stylish bloggers I follow), but I LOVE this look! I think a large part of why I love it is because the skirt is one I would have only considered wearing in the summer, but with some layering/different accessories, it transitions into another season seamlessly! (I found that to be true of a tank top I recently wore as well!)
Sarah of Simply Sarah touches upon this too, she just started a series of recycling outfits and changing them up so they can be worn in multiple seasons. I can’t wait to see how her 30 day recycling project turns out!

I’m really starting to like this blazer look- adding it to a summer dress or with jeans really dresses an outfit up! The only blazer I currently own is black, but a colored blazer is definitely an item on my “must have” list for 2013! I want something affordable, but also of a decent quality. Where do you shop for blazers?
The sweater is one I recently purchased on my haul to J.Crew Factory. I went to wash it in the delicate cycle and put it on low heat in the dryer (like I’ve done with other sweaters) but it shrunk. Boo. Then I checked the tag…dry clean only. Dangit! Luckily, it still fits but the torso is quite a bit shorter now…don’t you hate when that happens?! Lesson learned: read the tags and hand wash/air dry those delicate sweaters! Grrr…still mad about that- hopefully I can still get some wear out of it!
Linking up with Bri, fellow marketer extraordinaire and author of Work Clothes, I Suppose! Check out all of the ladies rocking their blazers here.
Cute outfit! Bummer about the sweater though!
My bestie Erin got me hooked on blazers last year. I got a blue one form H&M, a white one from Forever 21, and my Grandma just got me a red one from Kohl’s for the holiday! I also have a grey-ish jacket, and had a black blazer, and a tan one that I still have not worn. I love the blazer look!
Oooh nice! All of those colors sound lovely! I need to check out those places…especially Kohl’s!
Thanks so much for linking up!! I love this look – the bright red under the blazer is especially awesome. And at least you’re creative with the shrinking problem – tuck it in and the length won’t matter! I’ve been loving blazers from BP at Nordstrom and LOFT lately – definitely check them out :)
My pleasure…looking forward to the next one! It really motivates me to rework items in my closet! And I’ll certainly add those stores to my list as I search for my next blazer- thanks lady!
