Living in Chicagoland, I would think we would have a snow on the ground for Christmas. But this past weekend, it was sixty degrees. 6-0! Not that I’m complaining–it was awesome to get outside for a run and try out the BOB jogging stroller for the first time with Bryce! But it just doesn’t feel all that much like Christmas without that white stuff on the ground.
So this outfit is a nod to what I am hoping it will look like come December 25th. I actually wore this just a couple weekends ago when we got hit with over a foot of snow which has since melted away. I love this wrap coat from Cupcakes and Cashmere! It’s a blend that contains wool, so it’s warm but not super itchy. The belt defines the waist, and I the subtle plaid at the bottom is the perfect bit of trendy to an otherwise classic coat. I think next time I will try to tying the belt differently, though. I can’t seem to bow it without it sticking out too much, but I’m sure there are some cute knots I could do, right? If you have any suggestions, post them in the comments!
And to top it off, this coat is on sale, PLUS you get another 25% off during Shopbop’s 3 day sale with code BONUS25. And to make it even sweeter…use either of these cash back sites to shop at Shopbop…or nearly any online retailer!

Hmm, I don’t think I could describe how I knot the tie on my winter coat. I do know I don’t tie a bow, though!
That coat is really cute. I like the neckline. Perfect for scarves.
Yeah there’s some sort of knot that can be done…I need to do some Googling. And great point about scarves!
What a cute coat! I agree I am hoping for snow soon. It just doesn’t feel like Christmas without it!
Thanks Laura! Yeah it isn’t looking too good- bummer!
While I loved the temps in the 60’s I’m with you and want a white Christmas! This is such a cute look and your coat is gorgeous!
