I’ve come across some great products lately that I thought I’d share. All of these can be found via Amazon…one of my favorite places to shop online since they carry literally everything under the sun. Here’s what is in my cart:
Silicone Loofah
For years, T and I have used traditional loofah sponges. I would certainly replace them routinely, but probably not as often as I should. Then I started reading about how many germs those loofahs can harbor. So for under $10, I found a silicone loofah and it’s been great. The bristles are really nice and I feel like I get a better clean than a loofah, and it holds soap pretty well too. And when it comes time to sanitize it, just drop it in boiling water for 5 minutes and it’s good to go. Totally worth it in my opinion.
Maven Thread headbands
I’ve tried a number of headbands for workouts, and these are definitely working for me these days. They are sweat wicking, made of stretchy fabric and don’t make crease marks in your hair. Plus, they have TONS of gorgeous fabrics. Maven Thread has an online shop too, but they also sell their products on Amazon (hello Prime shipping!). They have tons of designs to choose from, and they are perfect for workouts, or to wear out and about to hold down those whispy baby hairs of mine that are taking foreverrr to grow out.
Books
I’ve been getting back into reading before bedtime, and it’s been so great. Lately, I’ve been reading a mix of fiction and nonfiction. Here’s a few I’m loving, including some I have in my cart on preorder (bottom row)
Top row: Knocked Up Cinderella (fun & lighthearted), Behind Closed Doors (a thriller you won’t be able to put down), Cook Once Eat All Week (a do-able approach to meal planning)
Bottom row: Simply Happy Parenting (love Denaye’s podcast, can’t wait for her new book!), Risen Motherhood (again, found through their podcast and now they have a book coming out!), and When Less Becomes More (Emily Ley’s latest book- LOVE her planners too.)
Dr. Bronner’s*
This stuff is the best. And if you want to simplify the products you have, this is the product to use. It is organic, Non-GMO Project Verified and has no preservatives, detergents or other harmful ingredients. Their pure castile liquid Soap is 2–3 times more concentrated than many leading liquid soaps, cleaners, and body washes and is versatile enough for your face, body and as a household cleaner. Here’s a few ways you can use it, either on it’s own, diluted, and/or mixed with other ingredients (and a more extensive list here): hand/face wash, all-purpose cleaner, food rinse, floor cleaner, aphid fighter, laundry soap, toilet scrub, aromatherapy foot bath, makeup brush cleaner, dog shampoo.
Similasan products*
Without fail, when the warmer temperatures hit, my allergies start to act up: itchy, watery eyes, nasal congestion & runny nose– it’s no fun! I’m ready to tackle it head on now and have my cabinet stashed full of Swiss-based Similasan products. Here’s why I like them: they use high quality natural active ingredients that help temporarily relieve the symptoms of itching, burning, watering, redness, etc., using the body’s defenses to support the immune system.
And I love that their eye drops contain no harsh chemicals or antihistamines, so you can use them as often as needed since there are no known side effects!
