Last month, I mentioned that I was joining Weight Watchers to help me lose the baby weight. I wanted to check in and give a little update. I joined and go to regular weekly meetings, which I’ve found have been great for keeping me accountable.
A couple years ago, I was a WW member and lost nearly 30 pounds, and was determined to do it again this time around since I knew it worked for me before. I’d say that my goal would be to lose 30 pounds yet again…and I’m on my way!
As of now at about a month or 5 weeks in, I’ve lost 8.8 pounds (and surpassed over 5% of my body weight.) YEE-HAW!
All I can say is thank goodness for pumping! That gets me an extra 14 points to my daily total, which has been a great help to ensure I’m not hungry and can maintain my supply. I’ve also been working out regularly…I typically do T25 workouts during the week (with some weight exercises for arms added in) while Bryce is napping or watching/cheering me on, and then run on the weekends when T is around to care for Bryce. I feel like I’ve found my groove, although the T25 workouts are getting a to be repetitive to me. I might be looking to do the “Beta” level or try out that P90X3 that has been staring at me for several months…
Any other recommendations for shorter but effective workouts I should try at home?
On the food front, I’ve compiled some great tips, tricks and recipes that I’ve been using along the way:
-This Hungry Girl smoothie is delicious and packed with protein. All the yums…
-These freezer meals are healthy and oh so easy to make for dinners! Best instructions/shopping list, etc. that I’ve seen after browsing tons on good ol Pinterest…
-This old fashioned oatmeal hack is a real time saver.
-This blogger has some good for you snacks that are WW approved!
-Can’t get enough zoodles. This recipe (and every other from Skinnytaste) are on my list. All her recipes have WW points figured out for you!
-I have an affinity for all things Pioneer Woman. Just made this Pasta Primavera loaded with fresh veggies. Divine!
What recipes do you use? Any WW friendly tricks or tips?

I LOVED T25!!! Beta was definitely tougher but such a great workout!
I’ve tried Insanity Max as well and if you want something really challenging that was a good one, still only 30 minutes but I was glad I had completed T25 first, it was rough!
I might have to “graduate” on to Beta…oh boy! And Insanity Max sounds well, INSANE! It is more intense than T25? I like the 30 minute aspect for sure!
Insanity Max was definitely harder than T25.. I was very happy I had done T25 first to get ready for it. The concept for Max was to go as far as you can and then write down what time you “maxed out” (aka took a break) and then the next time you do the program try to make it a little further. It was nice because it was a lot of circuits but at the same time it was rough lol. I need to go back and redo it sometime, I never got past the first month!
Way to go! It’s hard to find time to workout as a mom. It’s such a blessing to have a gym with daycare, but during the school year it’s still hard to figure out a time and day for it!
That is AMAZING that you have a gym + daycare! But finding time is half the battle, I hear ya!
Woo hoo, you’re doing awesome! I work out at home all the time now too (no gym membership) and I know what you mean, it can get a little repetitive! I make my own circuits – I’ll do one each for arms, legs and abs. I try to switch it up, but still feel like I’m doing the same thing a lot. Try Pinterest though, there’s tons of good routines to be found there!
Thanks so much Anne. I love the circuit idea to mix it up a bit– and you’re right, I totally overlooked Pinterest! I’m sure I won’t run out of workouts on there haha!
I love home workouts! My favorite sites are Fit Sugar, Tone it Up, Sarah Fit and Fitness Bender!
As far as recipes- Skinnytaste is the best!
Thanks for the recommendations- will have to check it out! I recall doing a few Fit Sugar workouts…loved them!
Thanks for the WW tips and links. We had the smoothie last weekend – it was good!
Of course, Amy! And glad you liked that smoothie…so refreshing for these summer days :-)
