Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
I woke up Saturday to a few inches of fresh snow outside and made my husband and I some Hungry Girl oatmeal to get us going!
Afterwards, we decided to hit the mall. I don’t head to the mall very often as I usually shop at the outlet mall since it’s much closer to my house. Needless to say, I was excited to visit some stores that I haven’t been to in a while!
I was on the hunt for a blazer and found a couple cute ones at Loft. I just love their stuff and their new arrivals were calling my name! I tried this teal blazer on first…(and yes, I kept my hat on while trying these on…I was still cold from being outside!)
And this one was super cute, too! (Just ignore my creepy intense gaze, mmk?!) :-)
I really wanted both, but I’m trying to stick to my new clothing budget, so I ended up going with the tweed blazer. I think it will go with a ton of colors, outfits, etc. But if the teal blazer goes on some super sale, I’ll definitely plan to get that one, too!
After hitting a few more stores, my husband and I grabbed some lunch at a place called Ketchup. I was drawn to this place in the food court because I am a ketchup fanatic (best.condiment.ever.) It was REALLY good!
Later that afternoon, I got ready for an annual girls night with a bunch of girlfriends. I ended up going with this outfit:
Sweater: J. Crew
Tank: Target
Necklace: Charming Charlie’s
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Target
I actually ended up switching to my cognac boots after realizing how cold it was outside! Plus, the flat boots are FAR more comfortable than heels!
We started out the night with a delicious Japanese dinner and did a nail polish gift exchange. I got these Nicole by OPI colors and can’t wait to try them out!
After dinner, we moved on to a local bar, enjoyed some drinks and a night of dancing and other girly shenanigans!
Sunday was a lazy day. We slept in and eventually got my menu planned for the week and went grocery shopping. Then I answered some emails, did a little research on cruises for an upcoming vacation with the hubs and did a quick run on the treadmill using a variation of this routine from Iowa Girl Eats:
My husband and I finished off the day by making some mini corn dog muffins, lil’ smokies and enjoyed the Superbowl (and more importantly, the commercials and Beyonce’s halftime show.) I though the halftime show was EXCELLENT and far better than Madonna last year. As for commercials, I loved the old folks heading out for a night on the town and stopping at Taco Bell for their late night munchie fix. The Tide commercial at the end with the stain of Joe Montana on the husband’s jersey was pretty good too. Did you have any favorites?
Linking up with Still Being [Molly], Lipgloss & Crayons, Sami’s Shenanigans and Join the Gossip.
I only saw the halftime show and no commercials! I liked the show though.
The tweed blazer would have been my choice too. Love the color of the J Crew sweater!
Thanks lady! Yeah I see the tweed going with a lot more outfits…
Halftime was definitely entertaining! I liked the computer effects with the multiple shadows of Beyonce…really cool!
Love your new blazers! Loft is my favorite when i eventually make it to the mall! Also love your girls night out outfit, I literally am wearing that exact outfit today! Black bubble necklace, orange sweater and cheetah shoes – LOVE IT!!!
Thanks Alisa! Yes Loft is probably my fave place (when I get to the mall)…otherwise I’m a Target fanatic :-) And we were outfit twinsies?! Too cool!
These are really great outfits! I liked this post very much, you have a great sense of style.
love the grey blazer you tried, and those polish colors are fabulous!
Thanks Lydia! (I’m glad I ended up going with the grey one…it was a tough choice!)
