After coming clean with my extreme clothing resolution, I plan to do a lot more remixing. (In fact, I’ll have to, which will be a welcome challenge!) Remixing is all about making little tweaks like switching out colors, adding accessories, tucking or layering. A small change can make for a totally different outfit! Here is an example where I took a blazer and a striped tee and adjusted it for a work and casual environment:

Here I went with a pencil skirt and boots (although nude pumps might be more “office appropriate”). To make it more casual, I swapped out the skirt for jeans and added some pink accessories with the scarf and the ballerina flats (although the boots would have worked just as well!)
Shop the look:
Blazer: Target
Tee: Old Navy
Skirt: J.Crew Factory
Boots: Aldo
Scarf: J.Crew Factory (similar)
Jeans: Gap
Flats: Target (similar)

I just bought a navy blazer for work and casual and an so excited to wear it several different ways!!!
What a great closet staple- I’m sure you’ll get tons of wear out of it! PS- how did your striped skirt ensemble turn out?!
Great looks! I’m pretty sure I’ve got everything to recreate these looks, thanks for the inspiration!
Fantastic Inge- glad you found inspiration…makes my day!
Love the work outfit especially. So great with the bright skirt!
preethi
lace, etc.
Thanks Preethi! The coral/navy combo is so great- really pops!
Both looks are great! This is such a clean, classic style that will easily transition into spring too. That purple scarf really pops against the navy. Thanks for linking up!
Thank you so much Alison! The pink and coral are great spring colors!
Yes! I do this all the time but definitely need to work on it more. Blazers are my favorite thing to wear to the office and then more casually as well.
Ditto! I’m going to aim to do more remixing posts…maybe we can collaborate somehow and remix a similar item of clothing and see what we come up with?!
I like how you refashioned the stripped shirt and paired with the pants it would be perfect for Casual Friday in the office. Happy Hump Day – hopped over from I Feel Pretty.
Exactly- I was thinking of Casual Friday for the jean look! Thanks so much for reading Antionette!
I did a remix today too. I love the second look and think I have the pieces to recreate it!!
I will have to check it out! So glad you found inspiration Jill- thanks for reading!
Love how you’re remixing that wardrobe, girl! I love anything with stripes on it, so I am a super fan of both of these looks. Thanks for linking up :)
Lots of remixing will be happening this year lol! Stripes and polka dots and other patterns are great to remix with solid colors and other patterns…can’t wait to experiment with my closet!
Both are amazing and stylish. I need to get better at mixing the pieces in my wardrobe. Love the stripes, such a classic piece.
Thank you so much Imogen! I hope to do more remix posts on the blog so be sure to check back!
I am all about remixing, so this post was great for me! I have a similar striped shirt and a navy blazer that I haven’t actually paired together yet. I love both looks, but your casual one is my favorite :) I love that shade of pink!
So glad you liked it! I love skirts but the casual look was really fun! Hot pink and navy are so much fun together!
