Happy Wednesday! First off, here’s a couple outfits for you, Instagram style.
Because clearly all selfies look better with this app:
Navy blazer, pink lace top, jeans
Red cardigan, red textured tank, striped skirt, black tights and heels/boots
1. My point and shoot camera has been on its last leg for a long time. I’ve been researching DSLR cameras and getting feedback from friends & family for a while and finally upgraded with the Canon Rebel T3i! I just ordered a remote on Amazon and will be doing a crash course consisting of reading blog posts and watching Youtube videos so I can figure out how to use it. Any tips/sites you might suggest?
2. Does anyone watch Little Couple on TLC? I couldn’t stop watching it last night…such a great family and their son Will is pretty much the cutest little guy ever. And I may have cried…a few times.
3. Last but not least…congrats to Laura for winning the $25 Erin Condren giveaway! Now the hard part- picking out something among their awesome planners, notebooks, stickers, labels and SO much more!

I looooove the pink lace top. I have yet to actually wear anything lace…I’m loving it so much on everyone else but for some reason I feel like a total goof when I try it on!
Thanks Val–nice name ;-) Lace is SO much fun and really adds some texture and detail to an outfit- you’d look great in it!
Whoot whoot! That’s the camera I have… it’s awesome. Although I don’t have tips… my boyfriend takes my pictures and when I take beauty product photos I make him do all the settings for me first haha. I would like to learn more as well though!
Yayyyy! Yeah I’m hoping my tech-savvy husband can help me out a bit but I had a Canon point and shoot so the interface is similar…

So many of the websites I’ve read online about how to use my camera just overwhelm me. Even the discussion we had in my class I’m taking overwhelmed me! I think the key is just to keep practicing and playing around with it. One of the best tips I’ve heard is to look at the EXIF data for the photos you take and really like to see what settings the camera was on. Then you can recreate those settings the next time.
Oooh that is super helpful- will check into that EXIF thing. Thanks lady!

I’ve been wanting a remote for a decent camera for a long time, and didn’t realize that some cameras just don’t have remote capability. Such is the case with my new camera, unfortunately. There is a work-around that I have yet to try, but that’s because I have a phone that just won’t cooperate (it needs to be fixed). Gah, technology! I’m sure you’ll be able to figure your new camera out quickly :) I’m excited to hear how you like the remote too.
Oh that is a bummer- hopefully you can tweak it so it will work! I just ordered one for $7 on Amazon that I’ve heard good things about- will let you know!
Great looks! I have a striped skirt almost exactly like yours and I love wearing it with red.
Oooh yay! Perhaps I see a Style Swap in our future ;-)

I wish we hadn’t cut off our cable so I could watch! This house move is making me miss so many shows! Love these outfits. They are totally me!
Yeah it’s really cramping your style lol! It’s crazy how much we rely on TV until it’s gone! Sounds like we definitely have a similar style :-)
I love that top outfit! The lace top is so pretty! We have a Cannon T3 and love it although I really have no clue how to use it. My husband takes all my pics! I really should get a remote and tripod just to educate myself for when he is away. Maybe some day! ;) And hurray for a new planner for me! I love being organized!
Yeah I’m hoping my tech-savvy husband can assist a bit :-) Luckily, it fits the tripod we already have and I just ordered a remote. Hope to be up and running ASAP so I can get some nicer shots! Congrats again- excited to see what you pick out!
I love that first outfit! Also, so exciting about the camera!
Thanks Ginny- I should have saved this for a Style Swap because it was inspired by a photo I saw from Julie Boden from Modern family in hot pink and navy…oh well!
I am looking into getting a new camera. Thanks for the motivation to get one with remote. So much easier to take pictures. Great outfit pictures!!!!
The remote is a must have for bloggers like us! I know mine has the “capability” but not the device itself, but I found a good one on Amazon for $7.

Both of these outfits are lovely! I really want that striped skirt.
Thank you Rebecca! I’ve found that a striped skirt is super versatile! Great pattern to have in the wardobe!
Great outfits. I especially love the one with the navy blazer. The pink scalloped top is gorgeous too. I want a Navy Blazer, badly. =)
Thank you Ada! I LOVE my navy blazer- it goes with so many colors…just as much a staple as a black blazer in my opinion!
