It’s been a little quiet on the blog here lately, and for good reason- we welcomed a new family member! Blake Elliott was born one month ago (what?!), and we are all just smitten with him…especially his big brother, Bryce.
We’ve all been getting used to being a family of four, and enjoying this exciting new chapter of our lives!
That said, over the past month, I’ve been curating a list of some of my favorites that I thought I’d share with you…many of which are baby or mom related (surprise surprise). Enjoy!
Desert Essence
I received these hair care products at the perfect time- when that postpartum hair situation was getting rough. I used the Desert Essence Anti-Breakage Shampoo and Conditioner to help with all that hair breakage I’m experiencing. And I have to say, I really love it. I typically wash my hair 2-3 times a week, and this product never left my hair feeling oily or weighed down. Slowly but surely, I feel like it’s helping. And no wonder- it has Biotin, Keratin and Pro-Vitamin B5 that helps reduce breakage up to 61%. The shampoo and conditioner are really rich, and they have Jojoba, coconut oils, aloe and shea butter, which helps with foritifying hair cuticles, provide shine and detangling my hair.

Oxo Tot bottle brush with stand and space saving drying rack
Feed, wash, dry, repeat. I am exclusively pumping (again) with Blake, and needless to say, there are lots of things to wash each day. I was gifted this bottle brush and bottle drying rack from OXO Tot, and it’s been ideal for all those bottles and accessories. I love that it takes up minimal counter space versus my old rack, plus it holds a ton and has great air flow, so everything dries fast! And bonus: it matches the color of my kitchen. Win win!
Wildbird Ring Sling
With Bryce, I didn’t wear him much but with kiddo #2, I feel like it’s more of a necessity! I’ve been wearing it nonstop- for trips to the park, tasks around the house and out and about for errands. So glad I invested in this. It’s comfortable, stylish, and super easy to use versus some other carriers I’ve tried. Plus, they have beautiful colors that can complement your wardrobe!
Kiwi Crate: The perfect rainy day activity. These are the best. It’s a box of hands-on science and art projects delivered for ages 0-16. Bryce’s latest box was all about rainbows and included this #diy pillow, two other projects, and an activity booklet all about how rainbows are made. You can also opt to get a book with the box that relates to the theme. We have two more waiting for a rainy day that are all about camping and dinosaurs that we can’t wait to dig into! I’m definitely adding this to my list of birthday gift ideas for the parties that Bryce is invited to- such a unique and fun gift. Get $10 off with my link: https://www.kiwico.com/Refer?i=ValerieP71
Microfiber body/face cloth set
My skin care routine these days isn’t all that grand (either too exhausted or not enough time for a multi-step process), but I ordered this set of microfiber cloths from Amazon. They are a game changer! One side is best for removing makeup, the other side exfoliates. Even after I wash my face with exfoliating soap, I get a cloth wet and scrub my face with it, and it really picks up a TON and gets my face really clean. So easy and simple, and gets the job done.
Skip Hop diaper backpack
I treated myself to a new diaper bag when Blake was born, and have always loved the Skip Hop line. When I saw this new backpack option, I pulled the trigger. It’s simple, streamlined and doesn’t look like a typical diaper bag. I love the tassel and the big compartments, including a separate changing pad zipped compartment- which makes diaper changes so much faster! It comes in this camel color, along with black, dark olive and a rose pink color.
Personalized baby/toddler gear
I am such a sucker for monogrammed or personalized items for my kiddos. Plus, they make such perfect gifts, especially for a second sibling to have something truly their own that isn’t a hand-me-down. Some of my favorites? These burp cloths/customized onesies, and pretty much anything from Pottery Barn Kids. Case in point- we received a beautiful personalized blanket for Blake (thanks, Sheri!), and Bryce has received a suitcase, lunchbox and water bottle that have served him well so far. Can’t get enough!
Canvas on the Cheap
We have several photos around our house of Bryce and our family, so I wanted to be diligent about making sure Blake’s photos were on display too! I was gifted a 12 x 12 canvas print from Canvas on the Cheap and uploading a photo I took of Blake. It turned out beautiful and the quality is great…plus just as it’s name implies, it’s really affordable vs. other canvas prints!
