Last week was an awesome mail week. I discovered this little beauty on my doorstep and did a happy dance. You know why?
I am a planner freak.
I am one of those gals that refuses to use a virtual calendar/planner. Nope. I am an old-school planner type now and forever.
I’ve tried different brands the past few years…everything from the standard ones at Target to custom designed planners. And since I literally use my planner every day, multiple times a day, I consider it an investment in keeping me organized and I’m willing to pay a bit more. Worth it to keep my sanity!
Anyways, I’ve always had my eye on the Emily Ley Simplified Planners. She is a fellow momma and her products are absolutely darling!
It came wrapped up in this keepsake box and tied with a bow, along with a handwritten note from Emily herself- what a nice touch! (Thank you, Emily!)
I got the Mint Dot Simplified Planner (price: $58), along with this magnetic page marker ($5).
Here’s a little preview of what it looks like…I’m itching to start filling mine out! (If you want more detailed images of the layout, click here.)
Each page features four simple, purposeful spaces: Schedule, To Do, Notes and Dinner. It also has tips printed throughout i.e.- “Mother’s Day is next week!” to keep me on my toes. And the cover is nice and durable with protective gold corners. There’s also a pocket inside the front cover, which can be used to store these coordinating notebooks. I am considering getting one, because I like to keep my blogging editorial calendar and notes in one place.
Want one for yourself? Well the good news is that the Simplified Planner for the 2016 Calendar year debuts TODAY! Check out the gorgeous designs (including mint dot, gold pineapple and happy stripe) and get to shopping! (I am also eyeing up a few other things…like her incredible baby book collection and home base binder.)
What planners have you used in the past? I’m all ears!
Disclosure: I received the Simplified Planner and page marker courtesy of Emily Ley. I chose to feature it in a blog post because I wanted to share it with you! This post also contains my affiliate link.
What a cute planner! I like that there is a lot of space for writing things down!
I am loving it…just wish it was 2016 already so I could start using it- HA! I’m used to more of a weekly layout with smaller spots for the days, but I think this is going to work to my advantage!
This has got to be the classiest planner I’ve ever seen. Love that cover!

It is SO pretty…and functional- best of both worlds!
Oohh I love it!! I’ve been debating on what to get for next year! I’ve been looking at the Erin Conrad ones but I can’t decide… Thanks for the review, I’ll have to check this one out!
I tried Erin Condren two years ago (did a blog post about it!) It was nice, but I think the SP will suit my needs a bit better. Both are great options though! Good luck!
Your office is so cute. Where did you get your gold accessories?! Love them!
Thanks Lauren! They are from Target- believe it or not! Nate Berkus’ line at Target has lots of gold office accessories.
hi there- I just stumbled upon this when trying to figure out if I should get the weekly or daily Emily Ley planner. How has it been going from a weekly planner to a daily planner?
I’ve been a weekly planner gal for quite some time, so I’m still getting used to it, truthfully. But the daily is really nice so I can see what I have for the day a bit clearer than jamming in all my notes/appts into a smaller space like I would in a weekly version. Keeps me feeling less overwhelmed if that makes sense since things are spaced out and more legible given the extra space. It’s also a bit more page flipping, but the page marker really helps with that. Now that I’m working full-time as well, I’ve found that the hourly spread is SUPER helpful and keeps me more organized! Thanks so much for reading and let me know if you have any more questions! (PS- if you do decide to get an Emily Ley planner, would SO appreciate if you used my affiliate links in my post to make your purchase. Thanks Kathleen!)
