Who doesn’t remember riding around in a Radio Flyer red wagon, trike or scooter throughout our childhood? Ahh, the memories.
If you love Chicago-based Radio Flyer as much as I do, you’ll love this short animated film called Taking Flight. Bryce was captivated when we watched it and it kept his attention the whole time. It’s just five minutes, but it drives home a powerful reminder for us all:
Childhood= Adventure + Imagination
More about the film:
Radio Flyer and critically-acclaimed Moonbot Studios have teamed up to produce Taking Flight. The film is inspired by the life and heritage of Antonio Pasin, inventor of the beloved Little Red Wagon. In the fictional tribute, what begins as a small boy’s boring day with Grandpa turns into a larger-than-life journey of imaginative play. To-date, the film has received more than 14 awards and accolades from international and local film festivals. What begins as a small boy’s over-scheduled, over supervised, boring day with Grandpa turns into a larger-than-life journey, narrowly escaping wild monkeys and battling aliens to save the universe. Through the power of imagination and epic adventure, a boy learns to be a kid, a father learns to be a dad, and a grandfather reminds us all what childhood is about.
So take five minutes with your kiddo today and enjoy this sweet film.
