Insta-Lately: March Edition
Happy Monday! Just wanted to share life lately, Instagram-style of course: Loving my workouts…particularly the 3 mile walks: just me, Baby P and my cankles :-) Spring has sprung! My tulips are just starting to sprout, and I put up this Easter bunny on the front door to make things a bit more festive… Get in my belly, baby! This baby was so cute that I could eat him (which I did) at a baby shower my coworkers surprised me with! I have a feeling these tees will be on Read More
Insta-lately (February- Part 2)
It's Monday again (how did that happen?!) so figured I'd do a second installment of "insta-lately." (In case you missed last week's here it is.) Enjoy! First up, I've been spending a lot of time in the kitchen, and recently whipped up these Healthy Blueberry Streusel Muffins from Hungry Girl. Definitely tasty, but I could taste the texture of the whole wheat flour (maybe I'm more alert of it being pregnant or something?!), which I didn't care for. I might try them again with all purpose Read More
5 Reasons I Love Pure Barre
Source So here’s five for your Friday….Pure Barre style! It’s 5 Reasons I Love Pure Barre! 1. Just an inch! Pure Barre is all about small isometric muscle movements. No running, no burpees...just little movements that lengthen and define your muscles. Such a nice change of pace from the workouts I’ve been doing literally my whole life! Plus, you get to wear fun sticky socks for the workout, another nice change of pace from gym shoes! 2. Better sore than sorry. Those small Read More
The Hungry Girl Diet- Week 4 Recap
Although this is fourth week of the Hungry Girl diet, I have to admit, I didn’t do a good job of sticking to the plan like I did in week 1. So this week 4 recap might be a little wah wahhh. It was a stressful week at work, and I had a major sweet tooth the entire week (I blame it on “that time of the month”…TMI? My bad!) The food that I did have from the plan was definitely tasty…here is what I would have for a typical day: Egg whites with fruit and a Bagel thin Asian stir fry with chicken Read More
Workout Plan and Hungry Girl Diet
Well March certainly went by fast, am I right? Hard to believe that I am five weeks out till the half marathon! After enduring long runs on the treadmill, this was my FIRST outdoor run on the trails! I met Kim for a nice 10 miler at the local forest preserve. The first loop was great and the ground was still a little hard, but by the second loop- everything was super mushy from the sun. Needless to say, my feet were soaked afterwards! Photo courtesy of Kim This week’s training plan Read More
#RWRunStreak recap
I used this printable from Life Your Way…it’s the same calendar half sheet I use for my blogging editorial calendar..fits nicely into my little notebook! Runner’s World introduced me to a holiday running streak that I decided to try this year: #RWRunStreak. “Stay fit and motivated during the busy (and calorie-filled) holiday season by pledging to run at least one mile every day, Thanksgiving through New Year's.” I started off with a nice long run with Kim, then hit the treadmill for the Read More
