Necklace: Kate Spade [exact] Vest: J. Crew Factory [option, option, option] Dress: Old Navy, out of stock [option, option] Sandals: Tommy Hilfiger via TJ Maxx [exact] Well, it’s been about another month since my last Weight Watchers check in so figured it was time for another update (not trying to be vain, just want to hold myself accountable here.) As of now, after 10 weeks on WW, I am down 17.8 pounds- YES! I am officially back at my pre-pregnancy weight, although I would like to Read More
Back at It: Gurnee Days 10k
First 5k run through the neighborhood. (Not gonna lie- was pretty sore after that!) After getting the “all clear” at my postpartum appointment, I am anxious to get to running again! That is, when I can find the time. Ideally, I’m aiming to do a half marathon later this fall, but getting out to run will be tricky. I look forward to when I can use the jogging stroller so Bryce can come with me (which I’ve read it as 6 months.) Until then, most of my runs are on weekends when T is with our Read More
Mizuno Wave Rider 18 Review
The following "Mizuno Wave Rider 18 Review" post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Mizuno. All opinions are my own. #WaveRider18 #FitFluential I love fall weather. Perfect for runs outside...not too hot/muggy, and not terribly cold (yet) either. I always look forward to weekends when I can get outside and get to sweatin'! Lately, however, I've been taking to the treadmill as the sun goes down earlier. By the time I get home from work, it's already dark...so to the basement I Read More
Hero Half Marathon and 10k Giveaway
Last year, I ran the inaugural Hero 10k race at the beautiful Indiana Dunes State Park, along with fellow blogger Erin, and my cousin Kelly. We had a blast… Erin took the superhero theme to the next level. It was epic. And my cousin and I used the gorgeous scenery for some jumping photos, obviously. And I’m back again this year…with a giveaway for not one but TWO lucky runners! The details: Hero Half Marathon and 10k When: Sunday, October 19 at 8 am CST Where: Indiana Dunes Read More
Workout in Style
This summer, my workout routine has been pretty...routine. I typically aim to do 5 workouts a week, with 2-3 days being running, 1-2 days for Pure Barre classes, and another day is typically doing strength training at a group exercise class at work (i.e.- Muscle Scuplt or Tabata). I'm not really doing any training for anything, besides my 2014 schedule of races. I just discovered a free run club in the area and met up with a friend for their Tuesday speed workouts. I couldn't remember the Read More
Fort2Base Giveaway!
I can't believe August is tomorrow (where is summer going?!) Regardless, I made a goal for myself to run one race a month. My race for August is Fort2Base. I wrote all about it here, but in short, it's a challenging and unique race where civilians get a glimpse at the military base! There are two race distances: 10 nautical miles (11.5 miles), which begins at historic Fort Sheridan and end at Naval Station Great Lakes via the spectacular Green Bay Trail. I did this race last year and really Read More
2014 Race Discounts and Running Schedule
Source This year, I decided to run one race a month during what I consider to be the decent weather months, so not including Dec through March due to the snow-pocalypse in Chicago. So far, I've stuck to it. I've also been complementing my running with Pure Barre classes and a group fitness class like Tabata or Body Pump at work here and there and I feel like it's been a great mix for me...I'm very pleased with my times from my 2014 running schedule thus far! April Ringing in Spring 10k Read More
Antioch Run for Freedom 5k Recap
This was my third year doing the Antioch Run for Freedom 5k on the 4th of July. This time, however, my Mom and husband joined me! It was so nice to be able to participate with them and cheer them on…so proud! This was the 20th anniversary of the race, and it seemed to be much more crowded than the past two years I participated. Luckily, I was able to pick up our packets a week or so ahead of time at the local bank that runs the race, so all we had to do was park and walk to the start, Read More
