Styling a Sweatshirt
It's been a while, but I *actually* have an outfit post for you! Let's hop right in... Over the years, a sweatshirt has become a staple piece in my closet. As a mom, it checks off the important boxes – washable and comfortable. But even though it is a casual piece, something about a wordless, no logo sweatshirt with a good fit gives this effortless vibe that is stylish, not sloppy. The first step to getting away from logo- or sports-themed sweatshirts is to pick a solid, classic color, Read More

If I had to wear a school uniform…

If I had to go abide by that dress code, this is how I’d add my own style to it. I layered the white button up under a camel sweater and added a neutral necklace to give it more detail and draw they eye to the neckline. Then I threw in some leopard print shoes for good measure. Cognac Accents & Winter Must Haves
Inspiration photo: I do deClaire When I saw Laura’s outfit featuring lots of cozy layers, I knew I had to recreate it using items in my own closet given polar vortex #2 we are experiencing in Chicago. (Don’t worry, I do have pantyhose on, but the black tights or leggings would have been a much warmer choice!) Anything that involves tall boots, scarves and layers is a great option for winter in my book. I love the pops of cognac in the boots, belt and scarf. Plus, Read More

Leopard Print Top: Two Ways
Happy Monday! (And for those of you that are off today, I am jealous!) I did have a nice extended weekend so I suppose I can't complain. On Thursday, I headed to Indiana to speak at my college for a “Careers in Business” panel, which was really fun. Call me crazy- but I kind of love public speaking. I stayed the night at my parents house and took off on Friday so squeeze in some quality time with them before heading back in the evening. Saturday was spent doing laundry and errands. I Read More
