I was super excited to get my second Stitch Fix, which arrived this week (yes, I stalked the tracking information every step of the way to my doorstep!) You can read more about how it works from my first Stitch Fix review, but otherwise the box does explain it best:
I requested a maxi skirt, jean jacket and a specific tank top I saw from another blogger’s Stitch Fix. My style profile also included that I love wearing dresses.
So what did I get this this month’s fix? Check it out:
Brentwood Jersey Stripe Tiered Top by Pomelo ($68)
I requested the khaki/cream tank top version of this that I saw on another blogger and Kelsey my stylist let me know in my note that it wasn’t available, so she included this long sleeve version. I really like the layering effect but not sure about the bold colors.
Gabe Striped Maxi Skirt by Renee C. ($58)
I requested a maxi skirt and got a cute one! Great for summer and fall and mixed with blazers, cardigans, denim jacket or just a white tank.
Anusha Sweet Wash Denim Jacket by Kut from the Kloth ($78)
I requested a denim jacket in this fix. I asked my stylist for a classic one with no crazy embellishments, and also asked that it stay within my budget and have a bit of stretch and she delivered! The only reservation I have is that the wash is a little too light for my liking…
Silvie Floral Beaded Detail Dress by Ark n Co ($78)
I LOVE wearing dresses all the time so was happy to see a dress in my fix- and it’s on of my favorite colors! I love belted dresses, but I have two issues with this dress right off the bat: it’s WAY too short on me and the beading is pretty cheap looking.
Brydon Twisted Seams Striped Tank by 41 Hawthorn ($48)
This navy/white striped tank is cute, but there isn’t anything terribly special about it-especially at nearly $50! Plus, I have others that are similar in my closet.
So there you have it! Now comes the hard part- making a decision on what to keep!
What do YOU think I should keep? Help me decide!
And if you want to sign up for try out Stitch Fix, I would recommend trying it out for at least one fix! It’s just $20 for your fix and the $20 will be applied as a credit towards anything you keep!

I will get a credit if you use it! Stitch Fix might just be my new favorite way to add to my wardrobe :-)

Stitch Fix #1
Maxi! It looks fantastic on you.
Thank you Lindsay- I’ve always wanted to try one out!
These are all really cute items, but it does seem like the prices are a bit high. I like the layering on the long sleeved top! That is really neat looking!
Thanks Laura! Some of the prices are high but even if I keep one item and apply the $20 credit- it isn’t so bad for a quality piece. It’s just hard trying to decide what to keep (if anything) this time around!
I’ve got my own Fix coming in the mail this week. It should have arrived yesterday but for some reason they claim they couldn’t leave it at my building! Guess who’s on the phone with the post office right now.
Anyway, as for the items in your fix, I actually like the wash on the jacket. Yes, it’s light but that just means you can wear it with dark jeans and not look like you’re wearing a denim tuxedo.
I’m not in love with the layered striped top. I think it hits you at a weird spot and makes your hips looks wider than they are. And I fear that if you tucked it in you would lose some of the interest of the cut. Maybe try it on with pants and see if that helps balance it out?
And I agree with you about the tank top. Pricey for something I’m sure you already have! The dress is definitely not work appropriate, either!
I always think I want a maxi skirt but then I try them on and can’t think of how I would wear them. So, I think you should keep that one so I can get some ideas :-)
LAME! That’s like torture knowing it is so close…yet so far! I’m excited to see what you get- have you been getting them consistently?
I was hoping I would get input from you on this fix!!! Good point on the jean jacket- I didn’t think of that! I don’t know why but in the back of my head I associate the lighter wash with being more casual…I feel I could get away with wearing a darker wash jacket to work versus this one? I dunno! And agreed on the striped top…even with pants it looked off. The lighter carmel/cream striped tank I had wanted would work better, but the colors really emphasize the angles or something…and the dress is wayy to special occasion- reminds me of an Easter dress! I’m undecided on the maxi skirt- I want one but not sure if I like this color scheme/pattern. Hoping my next fix will have a different version that I can keep :-)
I haven’t been getting them regularly. I stopped for awhile because my shopping was getting out of control. But now that I’ve changed fields and workplaces I’m going to try selling a bunch of my dressier stuff (seriously, I don’t need that many pairs of black pants!) and I asked my Stitch Fix stylist to send me more casual workplace apparel. So, we’ll see what I get!
That’s a fantastic use of Stitch Fix- I think that will be the perfect way to incorporate some casual pieces into the mix! (I had the opposite problem going from laid back, casual nonprofit to corporate America!)
Ooh! I love reading StitchFix reviews! All of your items are so fun and unique. The denim jacket fits you beautifully, but I can see what you mean about the light wash–not sure that it’s worth paying $78 for something that isn’t exactly what you want.
Me too- I always stop to read those and see if I like any of the items for my own fix! And I think I decided to pass on the jean jacket- the wash seems too light to be considered work appropriate. Bummer because I did like it but I wouldn’t get that much wear out of it…thanks for reading!
New reader here! I really like all of the pieces you received in your fix! I recently bought a denim jacket (which I think is identical to yours) from Zappos! And it happens to be on sale right now for $55.99 :)

That is EXACTLY the same jacket- oh my goodness! And much cheaper! Great find Rachel and thanks so much for reading!!
I really like the long-sleeved shirt. I agree with you that the denim wash is way too light… kind of looks like something I wore in 1991.
YES! That is exactly right! It would go well with acid wash jeans :-)
I would keep the jean jacket, the maxi skirt and the pink dress. All 3 look amazing on you.
Agi:)

I like the maxi skirt! The dress is cute too but if it’s too short then I really don’t think it’s worth keeping!
I’ve considered getting a stitchfix but I think my clothing budget falls below what they offer. I am really not interested in spending ~$50 for a top. I prefer to shop the sales at Kohls with my 30% off coupon :)
Yeah I liked the maxi skirt but ended up not keeping it and asked my stylist for one that was black/white or would go with more colors…
I agree that the price points can be a little high, but you can adjust your range in your profile and tell your stylist too. I figured that I can bargain shop for my basics/staples, then splurge on something that is more unique and higher quality- the $20 styling fee gets applied as a credit towards anything you keep so it does help drive down the cost a little bit!
PS- hope your ride went well this weekend- you are a rockstar!
That is a great point about splurging on a high quality item. Some items are worth spending more on!
The ride went great! The run the next day was a little tough though!
