With March literally right around the corner, I am always eager to transition my wardrobe into spring. For me, that usually involves floral prints, eyelet design, lighter colors & pops of color wherever I can! (See more of my spring go to’s here).
I still tend to wear sweaters in March/April since the weather can be a bit unpredictable in Chicago, but realized that all my sweaters are in my go-to colors: neutrals, blacks, gray and ivory. I definitely needed some color, and after a lot of trial & error (and money) buying sweaters at Target and elsewhere that were of low quality, I have been investing in sweaters from Everlane. Not only are they ethically made, but they stand up over time much better than their cheaper counterparts.
For the spring, I added Everlane’s Soft Cotton Crew in pale pink and the ReCashmere Vintage Crew in Faded Sienna Colorblock.
Sizing/styling tips: The Soft Cotton Crew is the perfect lightweight sweater. I am usually a medium but opted for a large for a roomier fit. I tend to find that many of Everlane’s tops have a shorter torso (even on me at 5’5″), but this sweater is the perfect length and doesn’t feel cropped to me. It is hand wash only. The ReCashmere Vintage Crew has a slightly more cropped length. I sized up to a large on this one too for a tad more length in the torso. It is super soft, not scratchy at all and feels so cozy! It is also hand wash, which is I prefer over having to dry clean or use Dryel on my 100% cashmere sweaters. Everlane offers both sweaters in plenty of colors, but this pale pink and salmon color go well with the color palette in my wardrobe.
4 Spring Outfit Ideas Featuring Everlane
Shop the look: Sweater / Skirt (old from Loft, option) / Pointed ballet flats (under $20!) / Earrings (fun option!)
A floral print skirt plus a lightweight sweater is perfect for church, baby shower or other fun event!
Shop the look: Sweater / Earrings (sold out from AE, option) / Denim (old from Old Navy, option, option) / Flats (option, option)
My white denim always makes an appearance come spring time– a real change from all the black I wear! Paired it with my eyelet pointed toe flats and fun wicker earrings.
Shop the look: Sweater / Long Sleeve (old from Costco, option) / Pants (old, but these are the best!) / Shoes
I’m a big fan of layering, particularly in springtime. The stripes peeking out from under the wear gives a fun detail, and the white Converse lighten up this casual, laid back outfit, which I can wear out and about!
Shop the look: Sweater / Earrings (made by me) / Jeans / Shoes (would also be cute with these booties)
Ankle length skinny jeans are perfect when you can actually show some ankle in warmer spring temps! I love wearing with my New Balance kicks with gold accents since it picks up the piping in the neckline of the sweater. The earrings also complement the golden yellow color in the sleeves- so fun!
So there you go. Two sweaters. Four different looks, plus potential for so much more when you remix!
