Whether you are looking for a gift for a friend, kids, family, teacher, host or beyond, I’ve got you covered with a round up of small businesses from Burlington, WI. This is by no means a complete listing (there are SO many more, but these are top of mind for me as places I’ve enjoyed.) Support your community by shopping small and supporting local business!
Here’s my Burlington gift guide:
For the kids/family “experience” type gift: Burlington Community Aquatic Center
Gift certificates are available for the 2023 season! Whether it’s swim lessons or a summer membership, makes for a great gift when you want to give an “experience.” Read more about our experience at the pool here.
For the green thumb: Burlington Garden Center
They have lots of fun events (House plant happy hour anyone?!), very knowledgeable and helpful staff and such a wide variety of plants, tools, etc. I got a house plant from here as a gift…such a wonderful idea! They have gift certificates too.
For the fitness fanatic: Wisconsin Power Yoga & Burlington Dance Academy
Wisconsin Power Yoga has some amazing hot yoga classes (I’m a newbie to the hot yoga scene, and their space is gorgeous & clean.) Gift certificates are available, as well as merchandise like shirts, mats, etc. Burlington Dance Academy offers barre classes on Monday nights at 6:15. You can purchase a punch card and use the classes on your own schedule! Both of these are on my wishlist!
For the home decor enthusiasts / hostess gifts / teachers: Twigs & Twine
This shop has so many cute finds- from gorgeous wreaths and signs to cute home decor, teacher customized gifts, furniture and fun seasonal and surprise boxes and custom shirts each season/month. Renee, one of the owners, also has a custom calligraphy business and does workshops and personalization on many of the shop items too!
For the fashion minded: Quotes & Cotton
This shop is a must see. TONS of womens & curvy clothing– trendy, modern and oh so cute. They even have men’s items, personalized hats/bags, etc. Some of my favorite things in my closet are from Q&C..love their QC original tees and WI/Btown hars! So fun to browse and find the perfect gift.
For some quality self care options: A Younger You Medical Spa
Whether it’s a hydrafacial (SO good, trust me), or a laser hair removal package or skin care products, there are lots of options for someone that deserves some pampering. Read more about my experience going for treatments here. (They also have a location in Brookfield too!)
For the coffee lover: Burlington Coffee Co., Coffee House at Chestnut & Pine
Grab a bag of coffee beans in a variety of roasts made fresh every week at The Loop Commons (which is also a fun spot for rock climbing and even space to work, create podcasts, etc.) Looking for more of a coffee house vibe to gift? The Coffee House has great handcrafted drinks and food with lots of seating to get some work done or visit with others.
For the beer / wine enthusiast: Low Daily, Buzzed Wine Bar
Low Daily has a variety of great beers (and seltzer!) that you can gift as a 4 pack or gift certificate (along with a Beerlington hoodie or shirt– my husband’s obsessed). They are always doing TONS of fun stuff throughout the week and their space is so cool AND family friendly. Win win! Buzzed also has a cool vibe (with a new location coming early next year!) where you can get a flight or a bottle and relax with friends. They even have fun wine advent boxes currently in the works!
For the foodies & sweet tooths: Jacob’s Smokehouse, Hansen’s
Best BBQ in Wisconsin according to many, can’t go wrong with a meal at Jacob’s Smokehouse. (The smoked mac and cheese is perfection.) It’s competition-winning barbeque! Looking for a sweet treat? Try the endless flavors of popcorn and ice cream at Hansen’s!
For the DIY’er / handy person: Reineman’s True Value
Reineman’s has such a wide variety of options for someone that enjoys a good project or working on their home. They also have some great decor items and a fun Ladies Night (10th anniversary one coming up Dec 1st from 4-8pm!) that they host with raffles, treats and vendors. Plus, they (along with many of the other business here), give back to their community and support other local businesses in so many ways.
