September 2015 Clothing Budget
Boden Long Sleeve Breton Tee: $30.40
Red Carter Neo Bohemia Tank Swimsuit: $69 after credit
Old Navy Fit & Flare Dress (B&W stripe and gray): $18 each, worn here
Old Navy Mid-Rise Rockstar Sateen Pants (olive and fig): $24 each
Lululemon Gingham Groovy Run Shorts (via eBay, similar): $39
Old Navy Compression Crops: $18
Not pictured: this space dye tee from Banana Republic Outlet. Paid $5 for it after my rewards…can’t beat that.
What can I say? Old Navy is hitting it out of the park with their fall clothing lineup! And I feel pretty good about my purchases because one of my favorite style bloggers Audrey at Putting Me Together blogged about the dresses and pants as fall staples a couple of weeks after I made my purchases! #win
Anyways, I had some SuperCash burning a whole in my wallet, so I opted to get a few remixable, somewhat neutral pieces for fall…and to treat myself after my WW adventures. The dresses are perfection, especially at under $20 a pop. And the best part? It’s one of the few dresses I can wear and still pump! (In case you are wondering, I use these when pumping. MUCH better all around!) I also grabbed another pair of my favorite compression capris…a workout staple for me.
I really wanted some pants that A-weren’t jeans and B-fit me without falling down so I ordered these mid-rise pants. I ordered in two sizes and while the larger size fit great in the thigh, it was loose in the waist (I really don’t like wearing belts, either…and the fact that it was mid-rise, the button hit me in a weird spot and I was constantly pulling them up,) On the other hand, the smaller size was perfect in the waist, but tighter in the thigh. Anyone else have this problem?! Needless to say, I went with the smaller size, knowing that pants always stretch out as the day goes on…and I can always do a few lunges in them when I first put them on to “break them in.” Come on, you know you do it too! ;-)
And a few other purchases…
I was curious to try out Lulelemon and see what the hype was about. I got this pair on eBay since there was no way I was going to pay full price and while they are SUPER cute, they really don’t have any advantage over the shorts I can buy at Target. They are pretty well made though, so I have to give them that…and I hear their guarantee is pretty great if their items ever break down. So I’m on the fence with this one…I might sell them on eBay, who knows.
I also wanted a basic striped tee that I can remix with the pants I bought, jeans, leggings, etc. so got this one after seeing it on Fran.
Lastly, I also used some Shopbop credits (and a some of my own money) to purchase this one piece swimsuit. I’ve been on the hunt for a one-piece that is flattering, but still covers and this one does the trick! And it fits great—perfect amount of support and coverage…I LOVE it!
All in all, this month’s purchases were again covered by blog income and eBay sales. Woo hoo! Super pleased with my purchases- all very practical, remixable and fall-like.
Speaking of…looking for some fall wardrobe favorites? Check out my post for Little Lake County!
So tell me, what did you treat yourself to this month? Post it in the comments!

That bathing suit is so cute! I can definitely see why you love it! You got some great, classic items this month!
Thanks Laura! Definitely worth paying a little more than I normally would- bathing suits are SO tough. Finding support/coverage, etc. in something that doesn’t look matronly is hard, but I think this one is a keeper!
Those pants look AMAZING! I absolutely love the colors!
They are fantastic and awesome colors for fall! Already wore them this weekend!
Good to know about Lululemon! I’ve been wanting to try them but have not wanted to pay full price either! I’ve heard a few mixed reviews lately after they increased their prices.
Old Navy is always good for the win!
Exactly- I am glad I found some on eBay first! They are nicely made and the built-in underwear is much nicer than that of Nike. Just so dang pricey- ugh! I don’t wear shorts to run in (hello, thigh chafing!) but they are nice for other workouts…T25 in my case!
I think those sateen pants are exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’m gonna have to check them out!!
The colors are so great for fall too! Good luck Jess!
Now I’m really interested in those ON sateen pants! Do they fit true to size?
They are pretty nice- just wore them this weekend. I’d say they are true to size…very fitted in the calf but have a little stretch to them. Mid rise and fall right at/below the belly button (at least on me!) I’m 5’5″, average build and the 8 Regular fit best. Hope this helps!
I love that swimsuit and those ON sateen pants are perfect for fall!

Doused In Pink
Thanks Jill- I normally wouldn’t pay that much for a swimsuit but if it fits/covers well, then I’m willing to go for it!
Lululemon stuff used to be way better quality than what I’ve seen from them lately. I bought my first pair of yoga pants from them in 2006 (still have them), and the earlier stuff held up much better than the new stuff does. It’s still worth buying at a discount via eBay like you did with these shorts, but I definitely wouldn’t pay full price for it anymore.
Wow, now that is high quality if you’ve had them all those years! Bummer the new stuff isn’t of the same quality, so eBay for the win!
