5 Random Things. I’ve seen this floating around the bloggy world, so I’m going to jump on the bandwagon and list 5 random things about myself…here goes nothin!
1. I am afraid of heights. Big time. Like I can’t walk by the edge of a stairwell (even if it’s only one story up)…I glue myself to the side of the wall when I go up or down stairs. And I don’t care if people judge me–better than my heart racing and not being able to breathe! (It’s not that bad…but it did get pretty bad at the Pentatonix concert…)
2. I am an only child. Sometimes I wish I had a brother or sister, and then sometimes I think it was pretty darn awesome growing up as an only child. In a way, my Mom and Dad were my parents and my siblings growing up…which is awesome in my opinion! We are super close and I talk to them almost every day (and I know my Mom is reading this…Lurve you MAAAAM!) But I definitely want my future children to have a sibling for a different dynamic…
3. I am a self-confessed chocoholic. Like I seriously think I’m addicted…do they have Chocoholics Anonymous classes anywhere? Sign me up! I eat it in some form every day…and some days more than others. Good for my taste buds, not so good for the scale…or my face. When I get stressed, I tend to eat more of it and then I break out. It’s a vicious cycle and I just can’t stop! I seriously need to go on a no-chocolate diet…but I’m thinking I could only do that for 48 hours. It’d be killer. Baby steps… (And looking back, I’m in awe that I lost 30 pounds last year after seeing my chocolate intake this week, which has been, ahem, slightly higher than usual.)
4. I think I work in one of the coolest fields ever. I graduated with a degree in Marketing & Public Relations and currently work for a well-known nonprofit, but before then I worked at a PR agency and in advertising as a media buyer and planner. In my current position, I am a jack-of-all-trades and am the social media manager, PR spokesperson, event planner, web designer, videographer/photographer, and communications writer and graphic designer! It’s so fun and fast paced and I think it really suits me well (plus, I get to be a part of awesome events/partnerships from time to time…which has allowed me to cross paths with the Chicago Bears, Josh Turner, Kevin Bacon, the Backstreet Boys, etc.)
5. I love to laugh…current things that I find hilarious and entertaining include: the show Duck Dynasty, anything from someecards.com, baby videos like this one, and my dog Izzy.
So what are your five random things?! I hereby tag Kim, Erin and Heather! Show me what you’ve got!

Love your outift. Love the stripe top with the red skirt. Amazing.
Agi:)

Thanks Agi! It’s a fun (and comfy) outfit!
Yay! I got tagged! Someone loves me!
I so jealous of people with graphic design skills. I have zero and would love to be better at it.
Heck yes you did! Yeah, I wouldn’t say I’m an expert…I mean I might be an “expert” (emphasize the air quotes) when it comes to Microsoft Publisher but not a real graphic design expert-they have a Mac and Adobe Creative Suite…I’m not that cool! :-)
Love your striped sweater and bright colored skirt! So pretty :)
Thanks Rachel! It’s a fun/bold outfit!
So, I am totally digging nautical clothing right now, so I am IN LOVE with this outfit. I am also really, really jealous of your job. I’ve been teaching for five years, but I really feel like you have my dream job. Have any connections in Birmingham?? ;)
Katie- Hems For Her
Aww thanks Katie! I’m sure you are a fabulous teacher! As for Birmingham connections…I don’t think I do unfortunately, but we can always connect on LinkedIn and maybe we’d have a mutual connection somewhere? You know that whole seven degrees of Kevin Bacon thing :-)
Cute, classy outfit. Love the boots with the bright pencil skirt.
Thanks Rebecca! I love wearing bright colors from time to time!
Such a cute look – love the stripes with the red skirt! And your job sounds AWESOME :)
Annie
The Other Side of Gray
Thanks Annie! It’s a fun line of work…and I give HUGE props to the nurses out there too! :-)
I say yay for the outfit!
I love that you are so close to your parents :) That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!
What’s up with all the chocolate this week? Everything ok? :(
My five random:
1. I love Star Wars
2. I’ve only been a bridesmaid once (this seems low to me, lol <— what does that say?!)
3. I have to paint my nails so I don't chew them
4. I like dogs but don't know how to act around them (show me!)
5. I prefer movies over television shows
There’s been an insane amount of chocolate goodies around me this week..and I basically can’t say no, hence my problem! My mother-in-law brought us cookies, coworker brought in cupcakes, baby shower at work with chocolate dipped EVERYTHING, the list goes on!
You will love Izzy…she is super sweet- can’t wait for you to meet her! And I hate to admit it, but I’ve never seen Star Wars- don’t hate me! I’ve only been a bridesmaid once too (and a Flower Girl back in the day).
That is chocolate overload! How is today going?
I don’t hate you! I know a lot of people who have not seen Star Wars! We all have different tastes :)
Yeah no kidding…today is better since I’m not around as much of it!
Definitely yay! I always love a brightly colored pencil skirt, and you can’t go wrong with b&w.
I might surpass you in terms of chocolate addiction, because when I read that you have chocolate everyday, I was confused that you made that sound like a bad thing. Um… is that bad? Sometimes I only have it once a day.
Thanks! Oh and eating chocolate isn’t bad at all! (I admit– I have been known to eat chocolate throughout the day…not just for dessert- it works its way into every meal it seems!) :-)
definitely yay – who doesn’t love a nautical inspired look?
and that is amazing you get to work at your dream job.
Thanks Lydia…I guess I’m pretty lucky (although it certainly isn’t “puppies and rainbows” all the time but any job or career is probably like that!)
