Chicagoland is known for its finicky weather and the past couple weeks were no exception. Just days after a polar vortex and almost a foot of snow, we enjoyed a nearly 60 degree swing soon after. What?! Needless to say, all the snow turned to piles of slush and puddles, which actually made it a great opportunity to test out Everlane’s new rain boots.
To ensure these boots can handle rain and muddy conditions, Everlane put them through rigorous water testing. With the slushy sidewalks and parking lots, it was the perfect time to test them out myself. And I have to say, they held up really well. Not only are the sleek and stylish (they come in five colors), but the fit is great and not heavy or uncomfortable to walk in. I got my usual size 9 and have plenty of room to wear a thicker sock with it- which is how the designed them to run. (They don’t offer half sizes, so just choose your regular size and you will be fine.)
Everlane’s goal was to create a truly comfortable rain boot. There are two grippable pull tags that make it much easier to tug the boots on, and the elastic panels create flexibility and movement while walking. The bottom is chunky, which makes it ideal for gripping icy streets. And the black trim toe detail is a nice design touch.
I paired my soft cotton crew in bone and mid-rise ankle stretch denim (Everlane designed them to be worn with denim specifically) with the rain boots in toffee and topped it off with my olive rain jacket I got from Poshmark (get $5 when you sign up with my code VPSTYLE23). They’ve been the perfect choice for puddle-jumping with the boys and running errands.
