I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to kick my fitness game in high gear in 2017. I’m signed up for my 4th half marathon in May and love the added benefit that barre brings to my training (more info on my post here).
That said, the newly opened local studio I wrote about last month, The Barre Code Vernon Hills, is offering a great new class AND some free classes too in January! Check it out:

And to help you jump start your fitness goals, The Barre Code is offering a #ResolutionRemix2017 challenge at studios across the country. The New Year’s challenge has two missions: make your RESOLUTION to find your strong at The Barre Code and then REMIX it by trying every class style all month long! Check out Instagram for ways you can enter!
As for The Barre Code Vernon Hills, they currently offer a variety of classes with one new class coming this year!
Barre Code <— my go-to class for strength training
Lengthen and strengthen your muscles during this 50-minute, full-body workout. Incorporating the best of Barre, this cornerstone class will push you to challenge both the body and mind while focusing on working each muscle group to fatigue. Work through dynamic, full-range movements alongside targeted, isometrics to really feel the shake and burn. Round out the total-body experience with a mindful, deep stretch that will leave you feeling accomplished and centered.
TBC <—just tried this…you’ll be a sweaty mess! Loved it!
TBC stands for both Total Body Conditioning and The Boot Camp. This bootcamp-style workout consists of functional, full-range-of-motion strength training exercises designed to challenge the whole body with a host of props, including heavier weights as well as body weight exercises. Though predominately strength-based, this class is bookended by high-intensity cardio intervals.
BarRestore is a full-body workout that consists of isometric holds and heavy repetition, working muscles to fatigue, followed by a physically and mentally restorative experience with dynamic movement, deep stretches and meditation. In this all-in-one class, you will work to develop muscle stamina and endurance, release tension, prevent injury, and promote active recovery while working that mind-body connection.
What are your fitness goals for 2017?
