Red Rugby Dress

July 2, 2014

IMG_1556
So I’ve been on a bit of a red kick lately, but luckily it’s around the 4th of July so it makes sense!  (See other recent red looks here and here.)

I decided to wear this red rugby dress with a tie waist to work.  It’s super comfortable…almost as comfortable as PJs.  Since I felt so laid back in it, I decided to add the blazer for work to step it up a notch.  I feel like our dress code definitely gets to be more relaxed during the summer months…and especially during short work weeks when the company shuts down for the holiday so I’m going to embrace it!  Anyone else feel the same?

Shop the look:
-Dress: Target (option, option)
-Blazer: Target
-Earrings: Wantable (read my review here)
-Watch: Kate Spade (although I got mine on eBay using a few of my bargaining tips)
-Wedges: Naturalizer via Saver’s

Thanks Fran! It’s all about adding some structure with a blazer or a nice statement necklace and classic heel. No one knew I was secretly wearing a PJ dress- mwa ha haaa!

What a fantastic dress! I don’t think I would have considered wearing it to the office with the waist tie (well, at least not at my old job!) but you really dressed it up with the blazer. Looks great!

Sounds like this outfit could totally work at your new gig! Anytime I can wear PJ-like clothing at the office is a win.

Agreed- so glad the tie waist was there otherwise it would be shapeless! I could even add a belt over it sometime too! Thanks for reading!

Love this look and I do feel the same! I just wore a tshirt dress to work yesterday, but paired it with a fun necklace and a blazer just like you did to make it feel a little more work appropriate, but I couldn’t resist some really fun striped summery wedges too. We are definitely on the same page! :)

I love it! It’s all about how you accessorize the outfit- tshirts dresses can be good for the office and for casual events too!

    • #Mondaymeditations I so grateful to be entrusted with these two boys. It is such a joy to watch them grow. I pray the Lord fills them with joy and gives them a determination to live for Him. The influences on kids these days are many, and it can be overwhelming to think of the lies and half-truths they hear (or will hear) on a daily basis. Though I can

Planet Oat now has unsweetened flavors (original and vanilla) with zero grams of sugar and just 45 calories per serving! The taste is great, creamy and works well straight up in a glass, in coffee as a creamer substitute or mixed in a smoothie or overnight oats.
