Ok I admit it. I jumped on the peplum train. But when I tried this on in the fitting room, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it fit! I did wear a cami under this since I felt like the top was a little sheer, but I like the fit without the cami so I will have to try it again without and stand under some fluorescent lights to make sure it “passes the test.” Plus, tucking the cami in makes the skirt gather a bit and raises them hemline, as you can see in the photo. At the outlet, they only had petite sizes left so I knew the length was going to be a little shorter but it did fall just above my knees without a cami so I deem it legit for the office!
This outfit is definitely more dressy than our office dress code, but some days you just want to dress it up! I paired the look with the Target peep toe heels I got on clearance as part of my July clothing budget and added this gorgeous fringe statement necklace from my Wantable accessories box for a pop of color. Love this look!
Do you ever have those days where you just want to dress it up at work?

This top looks great on you! I haven’t done the peplum thing, but being wider in the hips and narrow-waisted, it’s hard to find one that looks right on me, you know? I dig all the texture in your outfit, and the pop of color from that necklace. Gorgeous necklace!
Thanks! Yeah I wasn’t sure how I felt about it because I have wider hips and a not so narrow waist but it helps having a form fitting skirt to offset the ruffles! That necklace is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces!
I love that look on you! Peplum is so flattering to all body types and can be a really versatile piece!
Thank you so much! Yeah it really is versatile and I love the look with a form-fitting, stream lined piece on the bottom like a skirt!
Val, this is such a gorgeous look! And yet, it is sophisticated enough to wear to work. That peplum top is such a thing of beauty :)

Thanks Agi! I am in love with that necklace- the colors, the shape– everything!
This outfit is adorable! And who cares if it’s dressier than everyone else :-)
What material is your cami made out of? I find that the ones from The Limited are the best since they aren’t cotton. They don’t cling to other clothing as much.
So true…it’s all about how you feel right?! I’m actually wearing the cami that came with that snakeskin top we both have…so I think it’s polyester?
Fab outfit, lady!

Thanks Erin- I appreciate it!
Valerie! You look awesome in that peplum top! I haven’t jumped on the bandwagon myself yet (just haven’t found one that I love), but once I can find the right top, I’ll be right there with you. I really like the texture on this one :)

Thanks Brynn! Yeah the texture is really great on this one…but I was worried about getting it in white as strains tend to attract..case in point- later that day I splattered my lunch (spaghetti) ALL over it! Hopefully the Shout To-Go Wipes work :-) Just my luck!
